Vermont Senator Bernie Sanders is your consummate leftist. He’s a “
Democratic Socialist,” he believes in higher taxes, he believes the minimum wage should be unreasonably high, he believes corporations should be punished for existing, and on top of that, he’s a climate alarmist.
Being a dyed-in-the-wool leftist, however, he’s a massive hypocrite on all of these things. Sanders, himself, is a rich man who rejects common sense solutions to the climate issue, and Texas Republican Rep. Dan Crenshaw called him out on it recently with absolute perfection.
It all started when Sanders took to Twitter in order to push more doom and gloom about how the natural disasters that keep occurring are the result of manmade climate change. As per the usual, Sanders pushed the idea that in order to stop the weather from doing bad things to the people, the United States must swear off fossil fuels. As we all know, there were no natural disasters before we began burning coal and drilling for oil.
“Oregon is burning. California is burning. Siberia is burning. People are drowning in New York City. Detroit is flooding. There is drought all over the world. This is a climate crisis,” tweeted Sanders. “The United States must lead the world in transforming our energy system away from fossil fuel.”

He didn’t say it in this tweet, but the overall goal is to embrace legislation that would bar the use of fossil fuels in America. We know this legislation as Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez’s “Green New Deal” which would require some insane changes to the way the U.S. operates, including retrofitting buildings with things like solar panels, forbidding fuel-guzzling vehicles, limiting the number of cows you can have, and building a massive high-speed rail system across the United States.
Oh, and weirdly enough, it’ll somehow solve racism. How it does that wasn’t exactly discussed by AOC, just know that if you don’t approve of it you’re a racist.
Crenshaw understands the true intent behind climate alarmism and had a fitting response for Sanders.
“Ok calm down Bernie,” Crenshaw began. “If you believed reducing emissions was this urgent and would somehow mitigate bad weather, then you wouldn’t oppose nuclear energy and carbon capture, would you? But you do, because for you it’s actually NOT about climate change, it’s about control.”

Crenshaw is right here. As I’ve covered previously, nuclear energy is the cleanest energy we have and despite the left’s scaremongering about it with examples like Fukushima and Chernobyl, it’s incredibly safe. It also produces far more energy than hundreds of wind generators and millions of solar panels could ever hope to. Add on top of that the fact that it generates so little waste, it’s a wonder why nuclear isn’t the top choice when it comes to energy in every state.
To give you an idea, the nuclear waste generated in America over the past 60 years could fit on a football field at a depth of fewer than ten yards.
Yet Sanders and the rest of the left continuously shut down nuclear energy. Sanders even went so far as to shut down the nuclear power in his state resulting in more coal-burning to create electricity for his state, which suffered real consequences as a result.
Don’t ever let the left tell you it respects the environment more than the right. We’ve proven the opposite.
It all adds up to prove Crenshaw right. They don’t care about the environment. Like everything else, it’s about control. If they can control the way we produce and consume energy, they can effectively control our daily lives. If they can control our daily lives, there isn’t an end to how powerful they can become.
