Just decades ago, Candace Owens might have been turned away from an establishment for being black. Now she’s being turned away because she’s conservative.

The Daily Wire commentator tweeted to her followers on Wednesday that she’d been refused service from a COVID testing facility because she’s a conservative.

“Holy crap!! I just received an e-mail from a Covid testing facility that they are REFUSING to administer a test to me because they don’t like my politics. INSANE. I’m banned from making sure I don’t accidentally spread Covid? Going live with the e-mail on Instagram in 10 mins!” she tweeted.

Owens posted the email she received from a woman named Suzzana who works at the facility, and sure enough, Suzzana told Owens that she’s refusing to book her an appointment because she “cannot support anyone who has pro-actively worked to make this pandemic worse by spreading misinformation, politicizing, and discouraging the wearing of masks.”

Suzzana suggested Owens go to a different establishment located in a “back alley.”

Owens emailed a response telling the woman that the refusal by the woman on the basis of her politics makes this very political.

“Nothing screams ‘this virus isn’t political’ quite like googling the names of the people who book tests with you and determining on a case by case basis whether or not you will let them comply with your community covid measures,” wrote Owens in response. “Nothing screams ‘I love my community’ quite like refusing to test people who are going to a local event and wish to ensure they are negative and therefore do not spread the virus.”

As Owens goes on to point out, the “pandemic” must be laughable indeed if the seriousness of it all can be dismissed because someone has the wrong politics. For all the virtue-signaling from lefties about how people need to mask up, stay distant, and get vaccinated, there seems to be a lot of shrugging going on when people on the left spread COVID, or super spreader events take place that is friendly to the left. However, the moment someone on the right does anything, it’s the worst thing someone’s ever done.

As Owens points out in a later tweet, if they were actually that fearful of the virus, they’d be jumping at the chance to test anyone.

She makes a point in her email to tell me that she is the only one from Aspen to Texas that can get me a rapid result.

So she was willing to let me wander in her community unvaxxed, untested, and without a means to test—why?

Because she isn’t afraid.

But they’re clearly gatekeeping, meaning it must not be that bad.

This is just another example of how this virus is being used as a political cudgel with which to beat opponents over the head and keep everyone else fearful and obedient. Owens is right. This pandemic is over and has been for some time.
