AOC Is Furiously Attempting to Discredit Rep. Nancy Mace as She Disproves AOC's Riot Story but She's Failing Miserably

New York Rep. Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez was getting everything she could out of the January 6 riot at the Capitol, even telling her side of the story almost a month later and adding a few details such as a hateful police officer, a near brush with a hateful right-wing mob searching for her, and more.

Only as it turned out, AOC wasn’t even really around the mob. In fact, reports show she wasn’t even in the Capitol building when the riot happened. She was in her office according to her own testimony, which puts her in the Cannon Building nearby. As South Carolina’s Nancy Mace made clear, there were never any rioters in their hall.

“@AOC made clear she didn’t know who was at her door,” tweeted Mace. “Breathless attempts by media to fan fictitious news flames are dangerous. My office is 2 doors down. Insurrectionists never stormed our hallway. Egregious doesn’t even begin to cover it. Is there nothing MSM won’t politicize?”

AOC’s dedication to keeping her version of events alive has now reached critical mass, and in an effort to make Mace seem like a liar, AOC and her followers are now pointing to a tweet sent out by Mace during the attack.

This is a deeply cynical & disgusting attack, @NancyMace,” AOC tweeted in return. “As the Capitol complex was stormed and people were being killed, none of us knew in the moment what areas were compromised. You previously told reporters yourself that you barricaded in your office, afraid you’d be hurt.”

Two things can be true at the same time here. Mace could have been scared that the rioters would come for her in her office and so she barricaded herself in. It can also be true that no rioters ever came her way. In fact, as Nick Arama reported, it’s highly unlikely any rioters ever entered their building due to a lockdown that was already in effect from a suspicious package.

So yes, Mace was scared, but it turned out her fears didn’t manifest into an actual threat to her. No one came down her hallway, it’s likely that no one was even in her building. The same building that AOC was in and claimed she had nearly come face to face with the rioters herself according to her own story, which claimed they breached her office as reported by Newsweek:

Ocasio-Cortez said that rioters actually entered her office, forcing her to take refuge inside her bathroom after her legislative director Geraldo Bonilla-Chavez told her to “hide, hide, run and hide.”

“And so I run back into my office,” Ocasio-Cortez said. “I slam my door. There’s another kind of like back area to my office, and I open it, and there’s a closet and a bathroom. And I jump into my bathroom.”

AOC also reported that Trump supporters planted bombs, but there is still no evidence these bombs, which were actually planted the night before, were from Trump supporters according to the FBI.

So, effectively, Mace prepared for something that never happened, but AOC is trying to equate those preparations Mace made with the rioters actually being there. According to accounts by witnesses and reports, rioters never entered the hallway where Mace and AOC were, and it’s unlikely they were even in that building at all.

At this point, AOC is trying her hardest to keep her lie afloat but it’s sinking faster than she can bail it out.
