Tucker Carlson has something to say about this whole “Dr. Jill Biden” outrage, and as usual, he points out the mountain the left is talking about is actually a mole hill.
When the Wall Street Journal released an article pointing out that Jill Biden should probably drop the “Doctor” title before her name due to the fact that she’s about as much a doctor as Dr. Disrespect, the left took it a bit hard. No mainstream publication should be critical of the Bidens. It’s not allowed.
As you may have guessed, a defense was mounted from big names, particularly “The View” and Michelle Obama. According to Obama, daring to be critical of Biden like that was sexist. According to the ladies at “The View,” Biden should be surgeon general.
She far from qualifies. She has a doctorate in education, and as Fox News’s Tucker Carlson points out, that’s basically nothing.
“Jill Biden is one hell of a doctor, says Karen,” Carlson joked of “The View’s” response. “She should be Surgeon General. Just don’t ask her to commit surgery. Don’t ask for advice on your coronary artery disease ’cause she’s not actually a physician.”
“She’s a doctor of education, which means basically, nothing,” he continued. “On Friday, The Wall Street Journal pointed this out. They ran an op-ed by Joe Epstein that made a true and obvious point: Jill Biden is not a doctor, no. Maybe in the same sense that Dr. Pepper is.”
The real hilarious part is the reason Biden got her doctorate in education in the first place, as Carlson explains.
“In 2007, at the age of 55, she got a doctorate in education, so she’s got the same degree as Dr. Bill Cosby,” said Carlson. “In 2009, back when America was a lot more honest, Joe Biden explained why his wife got that degree: “She said, ‘I was so sick of the mail coming to Sen. and Mrs. Biden. I wanted to get mail addressed to Dr. and Sen. Biden. That’s the real reason she got her doctorate.’”
“In other words, Jill Biden was diagnosed with a very bad case of status anxiety, and she decided she’d cure that, as so many do in our country, with another pointless title,” Carlson continued. “That’s all true, it’s all obvious, therefore you’re not allowed to say it. A Washington Post columnist called Joe Epstein a ‘weird, grumpy, elitist man.’ ’Cause he told the truth, which is the one sin in America in 2020.”
As my colleague Bonchie covered, Biden seemed a bit miffed that her “doctor” title would be questioned and took to Twitter to drop a platitude in the pseudo “when they go low, we go high” virtue.
Together, we will build a world where the accomplishments of our daughters will be celebrated, rather than diminished.

Bonchie put it so well that I’m going to quote him here:
Here’s the reality of this situation. No one calls an Ed.D (or any non-medical degree really) a “doctor” outside of a professional setting. Someone may call a professor at college that, for example, but that’s done as a sign of respect as part of a direct interaction in a specific circumstance. Newt Gingrich has his doctorate. No one calls him Dr. Gingrich, nor has he ever pathetically demanded that people do so. In fact, like five minutes ago, the left, including The Washington Post, were laughing at Sebastian Gorka calling himself a doctor.
You could easily play “reverse the roles” here and put a Republican with a doctorate in education in the same place as Biden. Rest assured, the left would be laughing at whoever was demanding they be called “doctor” as another sign of Republican elitism and insecurity.
Only, on the left, it actually is happening and Joe Biden had already made that clear years ago.
