Looking at the makeup of Antifa and Black Lives Matter protests, you’ll notice something very interesting. While they have many black members, both organizations are primarily made up of white people, most of whom are in their 20’s or younger.
Many have wondered how people can get so wrong, no matter what their color. How people can go around mobbing others, burning down property, looting businesses, and even executing innocent people in the streets.
For white people, in particular, the answer boils down to feelings of guilt. They’ve been taught this feeling from multiple sources, including their own teachers, movies, television, activist groups, and more.
Our youth has been taught to believe that America truly is a racist nation with its racist roots extending all the way back to even before the nation was founded. They are taught white people did nothing but take, destroy, and enslave. They are taught to believe that the white race is a plague, not just on this country, but on the planet, and that it’s their responsibility to rise up against the system they’ve created and still benefit from so that a more peaceful and equal world can be put in its place.
They claim that the society we currently live in is rife with “system racism,” meaning white people currently enjoy an easy life due to the hardships faced by other races.
It’s a lie, making the guilt many white people feel when they’re convinced of this lie, a lie itself.
The Daily Wire recently had on Candace Owens who addressed this very idea:
Systemic racism “is not at all an obstacle to black Americans today,” Owens said. “There is no systemic racism. There is no law. There is nothing that says I cannot do something as a black person that you can do, so it’s completely false. What we’re really talking about is the fact that people want to absolve themselves of personal responsibility, and we’re being helped.
“If there is anything that is systemic in America today, it is white guilt. It’s been institutionalized, it’s been politicized, politicians [and] white people feeling bad for themselves and therefore allowing people – allowing black people and white people alike – you know, Antifa and Black Lives Matter to run around and act like toddlers, right?” Owens continued. “There is an emotional immaturity that is happening in black America, and it is spawned by the education system which shapes you from the time you are in kindergarten to believe that because you are black, you can’t in America. When you keep telling a child over and over again they can’t because-, they won’t, right? They will begin to believe in their own futility.”
Owens is right. They’ve been lying to both communities and each has taken either their victimization or guilt to heart, and have considered it their noble duty to go out into the streets to riot and destroy.
The truth is, white people do not benefit from systemic privilege, at least not in the way we’re told to believe. The same values and habits that make white people the majority of the middle class are the same that any race can take advantage of. The difference comes from a culture that the black community was pushed into with programs that encourage the dissolution of the nuclear family unit and reliance on welfare.
In 1964, President Lyndon B. Johnson declared an “unconditional war on poverty” during a State of the Union address. This “war” became synonymous with civil rights issues, making poverty a racial issue as well as a class issue, and any opposition to the entitlements and welfare being dished out during this “war” a racist act.
Welfare became a very common occurrence within the black community as a result. According to a 2013 Pew study, black households were twice more likely to have welfare than white households. What’s more, it caused an ever-widening ripple effect according to The National Bureau of Economic Research:
Using this exogenous variation, we find strong evidence that welfare receipt in one generation causes welfare participation in the next generation: when a parent is allowed [Disability Insurance], their adult child’s participation over the next five years increases by 6 percentage points. This effect grows over time, rising to 12 percentage points after ten years.
Once you’re in this kind of life it’s difficult to get out due to the rules of welfare.
This isn’t the fault of white people as many white people would prefer this kind of economic imprisonment would end for the black community. The blame primarily rests on ideology, and oddly enough, the same ideology that promotes this kind of economic imprisonment is the same one telling everyone that white people are the cause of all the problems.
The truth is that white people are not guilty for the situation that the black community finds themselves in any more than an Egyptian today is guilty of the enslavement of Jewish people that occurred during the time of Moses. The sins of one’s grandparents cannot be thrust on the child of today.
The descendants of slave-owning Americans are not guilty just as the those who descend from the African warlords who sold their fellow Africans into slavery are not guilty of that crime either.
If you want to find blame for the economic hardships faced by black people then look to the party that consistently attempts to keep that community under its thumb economically and socially. Look to the party that declares that if you stray from it then you aren’t truly black.
You’ll find that once you’ve removed their “help” from your life, the ladder gets a lot easier to climb.
