As CNN Contributors Sing Bill Clinton's Praises, Only One Stops to Address the Elephant In the Room

CNN Panel On Bill Clinton

Before Bill Clinton gave his speech for the Democratic National Convention, CNN talking heads were nearly giddy with excitement about what he would say. Only one seemed to have enough grounding in realism to address the elephant in the room.

A panel that contained Van Jones and former Democrat Michigan Governor Jennifer Granholm were singing Clinton’s praises with Jones calling the former president “the big dog” who “always brings it home.” Jones heaped praise on Clinton for knowing how to “move the whole crowd,” and that he has a “working-class hero upbringing.”

Granholm predicted he would be “bringing it on the economy as Jones told her to “preach.”

Only Scott Jennings seemed to want to point out the insanity of this situation they all found themselves in and in a moment of realism, pointed out that Clinton was far from someone they should be praising.

“I have to say, I am dumbfounded by this,” he said.

“How is it that Bill Clinton has not been canceled by the Democratic — how has he survived all of these waves of cancellation, when he’s been one of the biggest violators of these rules all these years?” Jennings continued.

“We talked about the use of character to try to say Donald Trump is a man of low character, Joe Biden is … He’s fair game on that,” Jennings added.

“That’s totally fine. So you’re going to say that in one breath and then say, ‘Character matters. Ladies and gentlemen, Bill Clinton.’ Does this make sense to anyone? If you want Republicans to vote for Joe Biden, having Bill Clinton talk about character —”

Jennings’s fellow CNN panelists began mounting a lazy defense about forgiveness (something they don’t extent to anyone but their own party) and Granholm mentioned that Clinton had already been through the wringer for his sexual deviancy decades ago. Still, no one addressed the fact that Clinton was closely associated with sex trafficker Jeffrey Epstein and that photo evidence of Clinton with some of Epstein’s girls exist.

Clinton has a dark cloud following him around wherever he goes and the questions surrounding his association with Epstein have come more to the forefront with each passing day. At some point, these questions will have to be answered, but until then, it would appear that the DNC is more than happy to use Clinton for his ability to attract crowds.

Also, until that time, it would appear that three out of every four CNN contributors will completely ignore the very real trouble Clinton finds himself in and defend him if need be. They will pretend as if he is the example of a moral and upstanding character that we should follow and only one in four CNN contributors will have the stability to point out that the emperor has no clothes and probably didn’t while in the room with a bunch of underage girls.
