When Democrats get their teeth into an issue they bite down with all their might, oftentimes to the point where their enthusiasm goes too far and they end up turning more people off than they do helping their own cause. This is likely because their goal isn’t actually a cultural improvement, it’s cultural domination.
The point is to get people blindly furious so outrageous claims that have little to no truth in them. The more educational they actually are, the worse it is for them.
One of the most gung-ho topics the left lies often about is guns and gun control. The left has a fundamental misunderstanding of firearms and doesn’t seem to have any desire to actually learn anything about them. They continue to make the same mistakes over and over again when it comes to advocating for gun control, as well as make the same debunked claims repeatedly.
When the left goes hard on gun control they go hard.
But they aren’t going at all now. The Democrats have pretty much put their attempts at gun control on ice, despite numerous shootings that have taken the lives of minorities and children.
Why?
Because support for gun control is at an all-time low according to Rasmusen:
Support for more gun control is down from last year’s all-time high, and one-in-four voters with guns in their household have added one in the past six months.
A new Rasmussen Reports national telephone and online survey finds that 52% of Likely U.S. Voters believe the United States needs stricter gun control laws, but that’s down from a record 64% a year ago following mass shootings in Texas and Ohio. Forty-two percent (42%) oppose additional gun control. (To see survey question wording, click here.)
As Stephen Gutowski of Free Beacon reported, July brought in nearly 1.8 million gun sales which is a massive surge that while not officially proven, is highly likely a result of both fears of the Coronavirus and the constant reports of BLM riots as well as Antifa raiding neighborhoods more and more.
This isn’t happening down ideological lines either. The left is purchasing firearms alongside the right.
Right now, America is more aware of its Second Amendment rights than it has been since the founding of this nation. Americans are becoming more reacquainted with firearms in ways that the left finds nightmarish, and somewhat ironically, it’s because of the left’s constant need to grow and foster its own radicalism.
Despite the fact that children have been shot, every aspect of the left from the media to anti-gun political interest groups have gone absolutely mum.
It’s easy to understand why. Any attempts from the left to try to reign in guns right now would result in massive backlash. At a time when Americans are on their own when it comes to protecting themselves, trying to stop gun purchases would give would-be voters another reason not to vote for them.
I think this should be remembered when we return back to times when we feel safer. The Coronavirus and the problems it brought with it, as well as the political posturing for the 2020 elections that resulted in much of the racial rioting you see now, came on very suddenly. Guns suddenly became a must-buy for many households.
Democrats will try to outlaw guns again but will wait until things are quieter and people feel less threatened in order to enforce their will on others.
Democrats take advantage of your safety in order to take things from you. The less you feel you need a right, the more eager they will be to take it from you.
When these bad times pass as all times do and we return back to a time of contentment and ease, don’t forget this time when our need for guns came back around. You never know when your rights will have to be utilized so they always need to be defended.
