Unemployment Rate Continues to Fall Despite Democrat's Best Efforts

Unemployment is dropping but all the usual suspects are oddly unhappy about this.

Today brings good news for Americans but maybe not so good news for the Democrats and their media.

ABC News begrudgingly reported on Friday that the United States had regained some of the jobs lost to the COVID-19 shutdowns and unemployment has fallen almost an entire point, adding nearly 2 million jobs. ABC adds that despite the better-than-expected gains, it paints the additions as “slow.”

The U.S. unemployment rate dropped to 10.2% in July, falling slightly below June’s 11.1%, according to the Bureau of Labor Statistics.

There were 1.8 million jobs added in the month as the country continues to grapple with the effects of the coronavirus pandemic.

While the numbers are better than expected, they still show a slow climb for any job gains.

ABC News paints the drop as “slightly below” the June average even though it’s more than an almost entire point down. It also adds that it’s a “slow climb” despite the fact that they admit in the same sentence that it’s “better than expected.”

It needs to be understood that the unemployment rate would be climbing a lot faster, but Democrat-run states across the country are seeing to it that they shut down indefinitely under the excuse that they’re saving people from COVID-19. States like Michigan are seeing strikingly high unemployment rates as Governor Gretchen Whitmer continues to tighten the noose on her own state’s job market. In California, nearly one in three workers have filed for unemployment since the pandemic began.

That’s over six million people currently unemployed in the state of California alone.

Needless to say, this national unemployment number would be dropping a lot faster if the governors of blue states weren’t holding their population and their economy hostage. It’s completely dishonest to say that Trump is doing everything wrong and then turn around and applaud the Democrat governors for keeping their states in lockdown.

What’s more, I think any job gains in this situation that we’re currently in should be considered great. The fact that the media is currently talking about it like Eeyore from Winnie the Pooh says more about their intentions than it does anything else.

If these unemployment drops were happening under a President Barack Obama, do you think the media and the Democrats would be singing the same derogatory tune?

I don’t think so.
