The violence forced upon America by leftist groups is undeniable. Nightly, rioters besiege a federal courthouse in Portland, Oregon as federal agents sustain injuries and exhaustion holding them off in a scene straight out of American historical moments such as the Alamo.
Yet despite leftist groups like Antifa clearly being a terroristic threat enacting its violent agenda every night, NBC News reported that the biggest threat to this nation isn’t them, it’s right-wing extremism.
NBC News introduces the study by saying that Islamic terrorism has decreased, but “far-right” activity has taken its place:
And after a major drive by law enforcement agencies to disrupt the organizing potential of violent Islamist movements in the United States and in Europe, where hundreds of people have returned from the battlefields in Iraq and Syria, recent analysis suggests far-right groups now pose the most significant threat to public safety.
“We see an increasing percentage of plots and attacks in the United States shifting over the past couple of years from jihadist motivations, increasingly, to far-right activity,” said Seth Jones, who directs the Transnational Threats Project at the Center for Strategic and International Studies, a Washington, D.C., think tank.
According to the study, these “right-wing extremists” are “sub-national or non-state entities” that have goals that range from actual evil, like white supremacists, to groups that are the furthest thing from evil such as pro-lifers. For good measure, Jones says extremist groups also include those who resist government authority.
For good measure, NBC News posted a picture of Trump supporters, with men in camo bearing their AR-15s in front of the State House in Concord, New Hampshire, in protest of the forced closing of local businesses.
NBC News posts a few incidents of violence where it was “classified as right-wing” and says that the reason for the increase is over COVID-19 and Black Lives Matter. What they classify as “right-wing” seems to revolve around the “boogaloo” movement, which is a generalized topic of discussion about what would happen if Americans were forced to retake their country through militaristic means from a hard-left government that has seized control of the country.
Funny enough, even in the NBC report, Thomas Hegghammer, a senior research fellow at the Norwegian Defence Research Establishment in Oslo noted that despite the chatter, there hasn’t been enough violence from the right to warrant western governments putting their full weight behind stopping it.
“The threat hasn’t been perceived as sufficiently severe,” he said. “To put it bluntly, there hasn’t been enough mass casualty terrorism from the far right for Western governments to put the full weight of their intelligence apparatus into this.”
Is right-wing terrorism the largest threat facing America today?
Not even by a longshot, and the proof is plastered all over the news. While right-leaning protests have occurred, some focusing on the protection and upkeep of our Second Amendment right to bear arms, these protests have been peaceful and non-violent in a very real sense, not the “peaceful protests” the media has been describing radicalized left-leaning violent riots as.
Thanks to the Black Lives Matter protests, people have been killed with numbers reaching into the double digits. This includes children.
As of this writing, BLM and Antifa have gathered armies of rioters to attack the Mark O. Hatfield Federal Courthouse in Portland, Oregon, nightly. Officers sustain injuries as they attempt to repel attackers who, if successful, will almost certainly severely injure these officers, if not kill them. They don’t just threaten violence, they do it.
Violence and destruction are a common sight during these riots. People are assaulted and gravely injured or shot and killed during this left-leaning protests.
The writing is on the wall. The true threat to America isn’t coming from the right. It’s coming from the left, and it’s happening right now.
NBC News would rather ignore the reality happening right in front of us in order to push a narrative that hardly has any weight.
