The UK Just Demonstrated How Socialized Medicine and Lack of Free Speech Can Be Horrifying and Dangerous

For those of you into the idea of socialized medicine and altering the First Amendment to include making hate speech illegal, the United Kingdom just gave us a bit of insight as to what it would look like if both of those things happened in America.

According to the U.K.’s National Health Service, medical staff can now deny you treatment for being sexist and racist.

That’s not a joke, despite the U.K.’s NHS continuously proving itself to be one.

The NHS claims that there is a rising trend of racism and sexism from patients, and as such, the NHS has instituted a sports-style card system that can see you ejected from a hospital without medical treatment if you say anything sexist or racist:

Following a national trend, staff have reported that incidents of racism on wards have increased over the past year so the hospital will be enforcing its zero tolerance policy against abusive behaviour.

This means that any patient abusing staff will be challenged and warned, leading to a sports-style disciplinary yellow card and then final red card in which treatment would be withdrawn as soon as is safe.

Any visitors causing disturbance or behaving in an unacceptable manner will get one verbal warning before being removed.

They even put out a fun video that goes into what could be considered behavior that would result in your ousting from the hospital, including language that makes people feel “excluded.”

If there is a hard line as to what can or shouldn’t be said in the presence of hospital staff, the NHS doesn’t really go into detail. As far as I can tell, it would appear that all you have to do is make a staff member feel like you’re a racist or sexist, and you’ll be warned and then ejected if you persist.

So really all that’s needed is an oversensitive nurse or doctor on a bad day who can take any little thing you say the wrong way and boom, your “free government healthcare” is denied.

And that’s not even considering the fact that it’s pretty nebulous in its explanation of how your racism and sexism may be heard or viewed. What happens if a doctor or nurse looks you up on social media and finds that you’ve been speaking out against illegal immigration, or commented that a female comedian wasn’t at all funny.

Can they kick you out if they feel offended by it?

Once again, the U.K. proves that having socialized healthcare and a lack of basic rights about free speech can result in a government that puts people at risk, and for some reason, we have people wanting to institute that here.

For those people who do, let me pose a question. Maybe you’d be fine with rules like these because you’re positive you’d never break them. You think this in spite of the fact that what is and isn’t considered offensive changes by the hour, but I digress.

Let’s say it’s your mom or dad that gets hurt and the doctors don’t want to treat either of them. What if it’s your son who’s a big fan of Ben Shapiro or Steven Crowder, and some salty nurse with a nasty case of TDS finds out and begins nefariously doing what’s necessary to have them ejected from the hospital?

This is what the NHS has opened the door to, and this is what too many Americans want to invite in as well.

A Queen doesn’t rule Britannia. Feelings do. Let’s not set feelings upon a throne here in America, too.
