Rachel Maddow's Ratings are Still Falling With No Signs of Stopping

The post-Mueller world has not been kind to the left, specifically those in cable news whose lifeblood was hearsay and speculation about the fact that maybe President Donald Trump colluded with foreign entities and possibly obstructed justice. Upon Trump being cleared, CNN and MSNBC’s audiences cleared out.

One of those hit hardest was Rachel Maddow who peaked with well over 3 million viewers a night, even beating out Sean Hannity on Fox news at one point. However, once the Mueller report dropped, Maddow’s did too.

From the Daily Caller:

Maddow peaked in January this year, where she averaged 3.3 million viewers. That number dipped to 3.1 million in February and again to 2.9 million in March. Her March coverage included the beginning to the end of the Mueller probe, when his office submitted his report to Attorney General William Barr.

As the investigation went public, Maddow’s numbers continued to crater. In April, her show averaged an audience of 2,630,000 people. Barr released a redacted version of the Mueller report last month, where he revealed that there was no evidence that the Trump campaign conspired with Russian officials to win the 2016 presidential election.

Now, Maddow sits at 2,608,000 viewers with 410,000 in the key 25-54 age demographic in the merry month of May.

For comparison, Hannity gets 3,138,000 while Tucker Carlson hits 2,761,000 nightly.

If it makes Maddow feel any better, she’s not alone. CNN is now a shadow of its former self. Particularly, April was an unmitigated disaster for the other leftist network with none of their shows placing in the top 25, and it’s total audience during prime time only hitting somewhere around the 700,000 mark.

In fact, at this time, CNN is having to go through more layoffs and close down its London office as it’s reported to be losing $10 million annually.

Perhaps the left is so demoralized by the Mueller report findings after having been built up for so long, or perhaps the interest in finding illegalities in Trump’s life aren’t as interesting anymore. Maybe it’s both. Either way, it looks like left-leaning cable networks aren’t attractive…at least for now.
