House Speaker Nancy Pelosi could usually count on a lie getting around the world before the truth could get its pants on, but in the age of the internet, the truth doesn’t need pants, just a Wi-Fi connection.
President Donald Trump sent out a video of Nancy Pelosi stammering her way through a press conference. It’s incredibly awkward, but it’s not necessarily uncommon as far as Pelosi goes. In fact, impressions of her have begun containing stammering phrases.

Team Pelosi immediately responded by claiming the video was doctored, and that doctored videos of Pelosi aren’t uncommon. This includes Pelosi’s daughter Christine, and Pelosi’s Chief of Staff, Drew Hammill.
Hours before the posting of this doctored video, @washingtonpost reports that doctored Pelosi videos are multiplying across social media https://t.co/byZueVF6P2 https://t.co/8qbOu3U9e9

Fake video altered for speed- just like you did to Acosta.
Dig deeper – you can give the presidency more respect than this. #BeBest, @potus! https://t.co/xR5Am1JgPE

However, according to the Daily Wire, one expert has pointed out that the video has not been doctored except in the way of it being a super-cut of moments where Pelosi stammered:
“Hany Farid, a computer-science professor and digital-forensics expert at University of California, Berkeley, told The Post that there was no doubt that video had been altered,” NBC News reports. “But he said he believed the video Trump tweeted Thursday had not been slowed down.”
“Unlike the video referred to in The Washington Post article, I don’t believe that this video montage was slowed down. This montage, however, is highly deceptive as it compiles in rapid succession relatively small verbal stumbles in an attempt to portray Speaker Pelosi as stumbling through her press conference,” Farid told the outlet.
Pelosi’s attempt to save face just made her look worse, in my opinion. If the Speaker really wanted to clap back at Trump with effectiveness, she should have just owned it. However, the Democratic party has a problem with trying to look flawless at all times, making them look more like would-be Emporers with no clothes.
