Nevermind that Sen. Kirsten Gillibrand (D – N.Y.) is about as likable as a rabid possum, and is a shrug-worthy politician at best, the real reason she’s probably not going to make it to the debate stage with her fellow 2020 candidates is that everyone is sexist.

According to the Washington Free Beacon, Gillibrand blamed her failing campaign on the fact that “people are generally biased against women”:

In a CNN profile about how Gillibrand is “living her best life” by having fun on the campaign trail, the low-polling senator gave a “hearty ‘yeah'” when asked if she’s not being taken seriously enough on the trail.

“I think it’s just gender bias. I think people are generally biased against women. I think also biased against young women,” she said. “There’s just bias and it’s real and it exists, but you have to overcome it.”

According to the Free Beacon, Gillibrand is likely not going to make the first debate stage due to lack of donors:

Adding to Gillibrand’s woes have been her inability to crack the Democratic National Committee’s donor threshold for the first debates on June 26 and 27. Candidates have to either get 65,000 unique donors—including 200 different donors in at least 20 states—or reach 1 percent in three reputable national or early-primary state polls.

Such tactics of garnering donations include her playing beer pong, and asking for $1 if she managed to sink a shot, fellow kids.

The Democratic party tends to bill itself as the party of women, however, Joe Biden is currently leading the pack by leaps and bounds according to a New Hampshire poll. Gillibrand is currently polling at 0%.

Another sore loser blamed sexism for her inability to defeat her political opponents. In between blaming everything from Russia to the wind, Hillary Clinton blamed America’s sexism on the reason she faltered:

From the Washington Examiner:

“[E]very day that goes by there’s more evidence and more proof of Russia and fake news and Cambridge Analytica and misogyny and sexism,” she said. “I mean it’s hard, it’s very hard.”

She said the “lock her up” chants that Trump led during the election and other protests around her were signs of misogyny.

Like Clinton before her, it’s a safe bet that Gillibrand isn’t flagging because she’s a woman, it’s more than likely because she’s a very unimpressive candidate.
