Democrat Voters are Over Beto O'Rourke, His Popularity Is Fading Drastically

The Monmouth Poll of New Hampshire is one that determines whether or not a Democrat progresses to the debate stage, and it has some very interesting things to show us about the current standing within the 2020 Democrat contenders for the White House.

For one, Democrats seem to be tossing Robert “Beto” O’Rourke into the trashcan.

The former Democratic Texas congressman who challenged Sen. Ted Cruz (R-Texas) for his seat was the left’s “it boy” while he battled the Lone Star State’s most popular incumbent. However, he lost the fight, and though excitement that he hit the 2020 presidential trail may have put him back in the spotlight temporarily, O’Rourke is now fading into the background.

According to the Monmouth Poll, O’Rourke currently sits at two percent. He’s not alone. Minnesota Sen. Amy Klobuchar and New Jersey Sparticus Sen. Cory Booker also sit at a meager two percent.

This is a steep fall. O’Rourke was one of the few people to actually overtake former VP Joe Biden in the polls as early as last December.

Even in terms of being a second choice, New Hampshire voters only put O’Rourke at four percent.

It should be noted that O’Rourke has less of a profile in New Hampshire than he does in other states, but regardless, this is a steep fall for O’Rourke who at one point had national recognition and support from the Democratic party as the left tried to turn Texas, a Republican stronghold, into a blue state.

Sadly for O’Rourke, his usefulness to Democrats ended with his defeat at the hands of Cruz. His residual popularity may have carried him into the 2020 race, but it would appear that his momentum is now disappearing.

Meanwhile, Biden has now doubled his numbers and sits comfortably in first with a 36 percent approval rating. There’s no doubt that Biden’s entry as the clear favorite amongst Democrat voters brought numbers from O’Rourke, as well as the other candidates in the field.
