Ilhan Omar Says This Won't be a Nation of White People, Pegs Trump for Synagogue Shooting

It’s fascinating to watch Rep. Ilhan Omar, the Minnesota congresswoman who made a name for herself by being extraordinarily antisemitic, attempt to make it seem like her obvious racism and bigotry is really the racism and bigotry of others.

While speaking during a rally called “Black Women in Defense of Ilhan Omar,” Omar suggested that President Donald Trump is actually to blame for the rise in antisemitism, specifically for the recent synagogue shooting in Poway, California.

The congresswoman began by claiming that Trump, “his goons in the Republican party,” and some Democrats believe that a black refuge immigrant Muslim shouldn’t be equal to them.

This absurdist logic continued as Omar proceeded to blame Trump — whom she calls an “occupant” of the White House — for the murders within the Jewish community, including the shooting in Poway.

“At this moment, the occupant of the White House and his allies are doing everything that they can to distance themselves and misinform the public from the monsters that they created that is [sic] terrorizing the Jewish community and the Muslim community,” said Omar to the audience present.

The clip cuts to Omar declaring that this will not be the country of white people.

“This will not be the country of the xenophobics. This is not going to be the country of white people. This is not going to be the country of the few, this is the country of the many,” declared Omar.

Firstly, a proven antisemite putting antisemitic action at the feet of anyone is rich. This is the same woman who proclaimed Israel shouldn’t get to exist as a Jewish state, accused Congress of being paid off by Israeli special interests, and is a strong supporter of the BDS movement.

Asking her why she supports it will literally cause her to run away.

She also described 9/11 as “some people who did something.”

But proclaiming this won’t be a white nation is awfully racist. For one, imagine a white Republican saying such a thing about how this won’t be a “black nation” and the reaction would be wholly different. News organizations from around the globe would be covering it. Marches down Main St. would be televised by any and all.

Omar is an antisemite and a racist. Attempting to point at others and declare them racist as a way to distract from this obvious fact is doing no favors for Omar.
