Disney/Marvel’s upcoming Captain Marvel film is already off to a bad start thanks in no small part to the fact that lead actress Brie Larson has been insufferable about just how feminist friendly this movie is, even going so far as to make white men feel unwelcome as an audience.

The social justice community has, however, gone ga-ga over the film, already calling it one of the most important films in Hollywood history, despite the fact that there have been plenty of action/sci-fi movies with female leads throughout the years.

This politicization of the film has naturally caused a divide among the Marvel fanbase, with many swearing off seeing the film altogether due to the film’s social justice leanings, and Larson’s abrasiveness toward certain groups. Many took to the website Rotten Tomatoes to voice this opinion in a section that allows you to vote whether or not you will be seeing the film, as well as an explanation as to why. Rotten Tomatoes soon altered their entire website to prevent this, due to the fact that Captain Marvel was receiving such backlash.

The controversy also reached the eyes of Hollywood actor James Woods, who publicly tweeted to his millions of fans that if white men aren’t welcome, then they’ll just not go see Marvel’s new movie.

However, Woods didn’t just stop at leading others to not go see a film. He suggested a different one for others to watch.

The movie Alita: Battle Angel also has a powerful female lead that is not continuously shoving politics in the face of its audience. Woods tweeted the distracted boyfriend meme with “moviegoers” finding Alita: Battle Angel more attractive than Captain Marvel.
