The Democrat’s newest addition to their ranks is proving not to be the brightest bulb in the bunch, but she’s been proving that since she arrived on the scene.
In one of the most ridiculous things said in 2018, Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez compared those in the migrant caravan attempting to force entry into the United States with the victims of the Holocaust. This prompted Sen. Lindsey Graham (R-S.C.) to suggest to the young Democrat that she take a trip to the Holocaust Museum and educate herself on what the Holocaust really was, and what it looked like.
The reason he did this is obvious to everyone not named Ocasio-Cortez, apparently. The Holocaust was a systematic genocide that took the lives of 17 million people, the vast majority of them Jewish.
Ocasio-Cortez apparently didn’t like being called out like that and decided she’d get the last word in by tweeting back at Graham and making a suggestion of her own. The only problem is that her response proved that she is still missing the point of Graham’s suggestion and that her ignorance of history and current events is woefully low.
“The point of such a treasured museum is to bring its lessons to present day,” tweeted Ocasio-Cortez.
“This administration has jailed children and violated human rights,” she added. “Perhaps we should stop pretending that authoritarianism + violence is a historical event instead of a growing force.”
Also, in a move of “I know you are, but what am I,” she also added that Graham should visit the African-American History and Culture Museum because he joked that it would be “terrible” if his DNA test showed that he was actually Iranian, due to his hard stance about Iranian leadership as of late. Somehow, Ocasio-Cortez arrived at Graham needing to learn about the peoples of a different region rather than what he was speaking about, but whatever.
While we’re recommending museums @LindseyGrahamSC, I heard your “joke” about ethnic DNA preferences last month.
Perhaps you would enjoy a visit (or revisit) to the Smithsonian Museum of African-American History and Culture (@NMAAHC). It’s a great educational experience.

First of all, she’s off on her information. Trump improved the living conditions at the border some time ago, especially for the children. The children weren’t “jailed,” but held until their family’s situation was solidified. This helps for many reasons, as children are taken care of while their parents do business, and it helps to prevent any child trafficking from taking place, which is a common problem at the border.
This response from Ocasio-Cortez shows that she’s not very interested in history, but what else is new? She called Israel “occupied Palestine,” then failed the back up her words, eventually acknowledging that she knew nothing about what was going on in that area. Understanding the history of the Jewish people is obviously not her strong point.
Neither is economics.
