Press Secretary Sarah Sanders released a statement responding to Jim Acosta’s temporary reinstatement of his press pass via a court ruling.

Needless to say, she wants things to go differently in the future but noted that the court made it clear that the First Amendment doesn’t automatically give you access to the White House.

“The court made clear that there is no absolute First Amendment right to access the White House. In response to the court, we will temporarily reinstate the reporter’s hard pass. We will also further develop rules and processes to ensure fair and orderly press conferences in the future,” said Sanders.

“There must be decorum at the White House,” she added.

Acosta had his press pass stripped from the White House after he attempted to get President Donald Trump with more gotcha questions and arguments against Trump’s positions. When a White House staffer attempted to take the microphone away from him, Acosta forcefully resisted her, continuing to dog Trump about immigration until Trump stepped away from the podium.

Upon his reinstatement, Trump wanted to assure people that the First Amendment does mean a lot to him, but that the press must be respectful in future press conferences. Failing to do so, Trump warned, will cause him to walk out. He has also instructed his aides to do the same if they run into another situation like the one Acosta brought.

According to some sources, Acosta’s fellow journalists in the press pool do not look too kindly on him behind closed doors due to this grandstanding behavior and inability to leave his ego at the door. One source, in particular, speculated that he does this in order to gain his own television show on CNN.
