Linda Sarsour Blames Flagging Support for Democrats on Israel and the Jewish People

Anti-Semitism is on the rise, and the left is pointing fingers at the right for it.

Nevermind that the left is either supportive or silent about figures such as Louis Farrakhan, a notorious anti-Semite who likes to claim that Hitler “was a great man,” and that the Jewish people are termites.

And definitely never mind that the identitarian left’s darling activist Linda Sarsour is a raging pro-Sharia anti-Semite who just recently decided to blame the Democrats’ failures to gain more seats during the midterm elections on the party’s over-friendliness to Israel and the Jews while sitting on an election panel for group Democracy NOW.

“The place where the Democratic Party has a downfall is that the same people who will support refugees and criminal justice reform then support for example the state of Israel,” said Sarsour, attempting to explain away the Democrats’ lack of great success.

As Emily Zanotti of the Daily Wire, who first reported on this, said of Sarsour’s comments: “Obviously Sarsour is implying that the Jewish people and the Jewish state of Israel engage in criminal behavior.”

Zanotti noted that Sarsour held a highly publicized vigil for the victims of the synagogue shooting in Pittsburg, with the Women’s March account posting plenty of pictures of Sarsour morning the slain Jewish people, but as Zanotti points out, it all amounts to window dressing:

The problem for the Women’s March is that Sarsour herself routinely makes anti-Semitic comments, which she couches as “anti-Zionism,” though they are clearly directed only at the Jewish people, and the Jewish state of Israel. Last year, while serving on a panel about anti-Semitism, Sarsour outed herself as an open supporter of the viciously anti-Semitic BDS movement, and called Israel’s dealings with Palestinians an “occupation.”

She and other Women’s March leaders have refused to distance themselves from or condemn virulent anti-Semite preacher Louis Farrakhan. Sarsour and Women’s March chairs Tamika Mallory and Carmen Perez have, instead, defended Farrakan, attended his speeches, and posed for photos with them. Farrakhan, of course, recently called Jews “termites” on Twitter, and chanted “death to Jews” with members of the Iranian government while on a visit to Iran.

It’s likely that Sarsour, in a moment of anger over the lack of success for the Democrats, let her prejudices and bigotry step forward, resulting in this ludicrous claim.

But this is a constant pattern for Sarsour, who points her finger at the Jewish people at times when she or a cause she supports is inconvenienced. At one point, she blamed her unpopularity on the “Jewish media.”

“If what you’re reading all day long, morning and night, in the Jewish media is that Linda Sarsour and Minister Farrakhan are the existential threats to the Jewish community, something really bad is gonna happen and we gonna miss the mark on it,” Sarsour said ironically while on a panel called “Anti-Semitism and the Struggle for Justice.”

If you’re waiting for the increase in hatred and attacks on Jewish people to be linked toward the musings and proclamations of people like Linda Sarsour, then you’ll be waiting a long time, however.
