Oh, the hilarity of Hollywood ignorance and elitism. These two aspects are the pillars by which the glitterati’s gilded bubble is kept aloft, high and strong.

Problem is, when celebrities shout down from on high through the rose-colored tint of the bubble, they don’t sound like the high gods of Olympus they think they do. Rather, they sound more like the musings and tantrums of children, clueless as to how the world works.

Take for instance the issue of gun control and Chelsea Handler. Handler is known for her hardcore leftism and her hatred for all things Republican.

This includes the often right-wing supported issue of gun ownership. Of course, Handler takes a very hard line stance against guns and lets the world know so by taking to Twitter. She especially loves doing this in response to anything President Donald Trump tweets.

Trump took to Twitter to announce that the Second Amendment will never be repealed and that more Republicans should be elected to protect it. Handler responded by stating that 2A won’t be repealed because Trump lacks decency or morality. She then lashed out at Republicans about being against the death of children in the womb, but not against the death of children in schools.

First off, I’d like to thank Handler for admitting that the death of children in the womb, and the death of children in schools are comparable. Secondly, I’d like to point out that Trump is correct here. Repealing the 2nd Amendment is nearly impossible to do thanks to all the rules and regs that prevent it from going down so easily.

But the fun continued as a Twitter user hit Handler back due to her hypocritical use of armed guards as she attempts to strip regular Americans of their firearms.

Handler’s response blew up in her face before she even knew what was happening.

Handler may not know it, but she just sank her own battleship with what she thought was a torpedo into the heart of the pro-gun argument.

For one, Handler doesn’t seem to understand that the vast majority of guns in America have never, and will never be used to kill a kid.

More importantly, she just exposed her own elitism when it comes to firearms by highlighting that she is, in fact, protected by weapons. Not only that, she’s protected by men holding these weapons.

Furthermore, Handler claims that her bodyguards aren’t carrying semi-automatic weapons. I’d like to point out that this is likely completely false, and that Handler doesn’t know what a semi-automatic weapon actually is. In her mind, she’s likely seeing an AR-15 and is ignorant to the fact that the vast majority of guns in the nation are semi-automatic.

It’s possible that Handler’s security are all using revolvers or lever-action rifles like some old western carriage detail, or are perhaps are just carrying around tasers and mace. I sincerely doubt either of these, and I’m going to assume that her armed security is wielding semi-automatic pistols, as is the standard.

If her armed security isn’t packing a semi-automatic rifle, I regret to inform her that her security is woefully outgunned. Semi-automatics are ridiculously common nowadays. Should her security detail run into trouble, they’re going to have a disadvantage against her semi-automatically armed attackers.

Few Americans can afford the kind of protection Handler has, yet Handler seems to believe that her life is more valuable than others and so deserves it. If that is not the case, then Handler will have no problem firing her armed detail and living the gun-free life she promotes.

If she won’t do that, then I advise Handler to educate herself on firearms, understand their importance in her protection, and try to understand what it’s like to not be able to afford people to hold those firearms for you.
