One Reporter at the March for Our Lives Found it Absolutely Abounding with Hypocrisy...and Guns

Guns for me, but not for thee, peasant.

There are a few things you can always expect from lefty marches.

For one, it will be abundant with ignorance, be it of history or our current laws. Secondly, you can expect to see signage that range from the stupid, to the flat out violent.

Third, however, is the amount of straight up hypocrisy displayed by many who attend these marches. This is a constant pattern. During the Dakota Access Pipeline protest, the protesters who were supposedly so concerned with the environment left behind a toxic waste dump filled to the brim with trash and abandoned pets. The same can be seen at “Earth Day” gatherings, where people get together to raise awareness about environmental damage and helping clean up the planet, and leave behind a deluge of trash and human waste.

The March for Our Lives, a protest that was billed as being “student-led” — but was in fact an event put together by almost every recognizable name in the left-wing activist pantheon — was no different in the least.

The Daily Caller’s Benny Johnson attended the March for Our Lives, and sure enough, what he found there was some of the most pro-gun, anti-gun people he’s ever seen:

Each celebrity speaker and high school activist who took the stage to give an impassioned speech condemning firearms was themselves protected by a wide arsenal firearms.

I personally witnessed multiple celebrities go to and from their limousines under the heavily armed guard of private security members and the Capitol Police. I watched Katie Couric, Cher, George Clooney and the student celebrities of Parkland all get escorted to safety by police officers who were visibly carrying holstered handguns. None of the speakers waived the protections of an armed officer. Every major movie star, singer or student leaving the rally rushed to the protective bubble of well armed security as they traveled from the gated backstage area to idling limousines and private cars.

Johnson even provides video evidence.

Johnson continues by noting the amount of firepower on display, surrounding the celebrities who were there to advance the anti-gun agenda:

I watch this happen again and again, as armed police held back screaming fans and teenagers from harassing some of their favorite advocate-celebrities. There wasn’t a moment of irony when Cher’s private security, who I assume we’re packing heat, pushed me out of the way as I attempted to ask her a question.

There was no irony when the same thing happened with Jennifer Hudson.

Emma Gonzalez was able to briskly walk to her waiting limousine with her hoodie on, indifferent to the rabid crowds calling for her attention thanks at least in part to the armed police who kept the screaming teens at bay.

George Clooney’s security, arguably the most massive force on scene that day, didn’t let a soul near him.

While the left is filled to the brim with hypocrisy, the presence of guns at a celebrity attended anti-gun event should surprise no one. Much of what we see from the anti-gun crowd is often a “freedoms for me, but not for thee” mentality. This goes beyond activists and celebrities, and even extends to politicians.

Bernie Sanders recently appeared in front of an anti-gun crowd as well, and accompanying him was a cadre of armed security.

Remember folks. We here in the peasant class shouldn’t have the same rights and protections according to the people who consider themselves our societal betters.
