Social justice warriors are a brand of crazy that only exists in the mainstream because of a sympathetic media who seems to believe that you can’t go too far left enough. Their racism, sexism, bigotry, and willingness to use violence puts them above and beyond most other subculture in terms of evil, but thankfully society as a whole is starting to recognize them for the lunatics they are.
And it’s because they consistently clown themselves, just like they did not long ago at Portland State University during an event discussing diversity. The talk featured former Evergreen State biologist Heather E. Heying, writer Helen Pluckrose, and former Google engineer James DaMore. As you’ll recall, DaMore was fired from Google after he wrote a memo highlighting the differences between men and women.
In a video posted to YouTube that shows the event, nearly 20 minutes into the conversation Heying was asked to comment on Pluckrose’s description of “social constructivism,” which is the belief that everything we know is learned from societal constructs, and that any inequalities are derived thereby.
“James argues, accurately, that there are differences between men and women,” began Heying. “This is a strange position to be in, to be arguing for something that is so universally and widely accepted within biology. What is not as widely accepted is that culture is also evolutionary; but I’m going to argue that both biology and culture are both evolutionary. Let’s look at differences between men and women that are explicitly anatomical and physiological; are men taller than women on average? Does anyone take offense at that fact? I would say you could be irritated by it; you could be irritated by the fact that women have to be the ones who gestate and lactate; you could be irritated by a lot of truths—”
It was at this point that the social justice warriors in the crowd had had enough, and one girl with green hair proceeded to get up and make a scene about leaving, signaling others to follow her.
Heying continued to speak through the commotion, highlighting that our brains are developed differently, including our bodies. However, the social justice warriors then proceeded to knock something over that took out the microphone system. At that point, someone shouts for security to come and remove the SJWs from the scene, who continued to lose it in the lobby of the auditorium.
One woman screamed that (presumably DaMore) was a “piece of sh*t,” and that “even the women in there have been brainwashed!” One male protester called the biologist a Nazi, and that the college was allowing fascism to be heard, which should “not occur in civil society.”
He did not deem to explain how knocking over a PA system was “civil.”
The speech inside continued, with moderator, PSU philosophy professor Peter Boghossian, continuing the proceedings. However, Boghossian said a few words against the SJW’s behavior first.
“Let me be crystal clear: that sort of behavior is unacceptable in civilized society. And if that person is a student, they should be given a warning, and if they do it again they should be expelled from the university,” said Boghossian.
