Netanyahu Teases That More Countries Are Going to Follow US's Lead on Jerusalem Decision

If you thought all the fun the United States’ decision to label Jerusalem Israel’s capital has caused was over with the UN vote overwhelmingly condemning the U.S. for its decision, then prepare yourself for even more outrage from the world community. It seems more countries are looking to follow the leader.

In an interview with CNN, Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu teased the fact that several countries have told him that they also plan to announce Jerusalem as the capital of Israel, and plan on moving their embassies there.

“We’re now talking to several countries who are seriously considering saying exactly the same thing as the United States and moving their embassies to Jerusalem,” Netanyahu told CNN.

“Jerusalem has been the capital of Israel for 3,000 years from the time of King David. It has been the capital of Israel for 70 years, and it’s about time that the US said, and I’m glad they said, ‘This is the capital and we recognize it,'” said Netanyahu, adding “and I think that’s going to be followed by other countries.”

CNN asked Netanyahu who these countries are, but Netanyahu refused to expose the names of the countries for fear that there would be attempts to stop them.

As RedState highlighted earlier this morning, Romania has already announced that they will also be moving their embassy to Jerusalem. Hopefully, this will be the start of an avalanche of other countries.
