BREAKING: Hamas Leader Calls for "Day of Blood" Following UN Condemnation of US Jerusalem Decision

The leader of the terrorist group Hamas, Yahya Sinwar, is calling for a “day of blood” in Israel’s West Bank following the United Nations overwhelming decision to condemn the United States for its declaration that Jerusalem is the capital of Israel, and that the U.S. would be moving its embassy there.

From the Jerusalem Post:

Hamas leader Yahya Sinwar called on Thursday for a “day of blood” in the West Bank, following the UN General Assembly vote on a resolution slamming US President Donald Trump’s decision to recognize Jerusalem as Israel’s capital.

The statement appeared to be an escalation of sorts because up until now Hamas had called for “days of rage,” which so far have manifested in widespread protests and riots across the West Bank and the Gaza Strip.

The UN vote came after U.S. Ambassador Nikki Haley warned assembly members that the U.S. is the primary benefactor within the UN and that it would remember the states that voted to condemn the U.S. when these states needed help down the road, as they often do.

Hamas praised the UN’s decision to condemn the United States according to the Times of Israel.

Hamas spokesman Fawzi Barhoum called the resolution “a step in the right direction” and “a blow to [President Donald] Trump’s announcement.” He also claimed the resolution emphasizes “the Palestinian right to the holy city.”

If the UN was trying to avoid rising tensions by denouncing the U.S.’s move, then it has failed miserably.
