BREAKING: Gaza Terrorist Group Launches Two Rockets at Israel

Israeli military has confirmed that two rockets were launched from the Gaza Strip toward Israel, but fell short inside the Palestinian enclave.

According to Reuters, the rockets did not originate from the Gaza Strip’s primary terrorist group, Hamas, but instead, a smaller group called the “Al-Tawheed Brigades.”

“Following the sirens that sounded in Hof Ashkelon and Sha’ar HaNegev regional councils in southern Israel earlier this evening, two launches from the Gaza Strip toward Israel were identified. No hits were confirmed in Israeli territory. Hits were confirmed within the Gaza Strip,” an army statement said.

A Jihadist Salafi group in Gaza called the Al-Tawheed Brigades – which does not heed the call from the enclave’s dominant force, Hamas, to desist from firing rockets – claimed responsibility for the launches.

These attacks follow on the heels of President Trump announcing the United States recognition of Jerusalem as the Capitol of Israel. The fallout from the announcement has caused many Islamic groups to react violently, including Hamas, whose leader promoted an intifada against Israel in order to make Trump “regret” his decision.

After the announcement, Palestinians closed shops and schools in order to engage in a three “days of rage.” Between this and Hamas’s encouragement of an uprising, this is likely just the start of the violence.
