Undercover Op Shows the TSA Is Still MASSIVELY Failing at Its Job

If you were hoping the Transportation Security Administration’s intrusion on your civil liberties, and gloved hands down your pants was keeping you safe, then I regret to inform you that your groping was for naught.

According to CBS News, a new undercover operation conducted by Homeland Security investigators found that the TSA has not yet learned to properly do its job despite having gotten raked over the coals multiple times before over their negligence.

From CBS News:

Homeland Security investigators found that, more than 70 percent of the time, undercover officers were able to get through TSA checkpoints with mock knives, guns and explosives, the House Homeland Security Committee was told Wednesday. Just two years ago, testing found a 95 percent failure rate, reports CBS News correspondent Kris Van Cleave.

“We found that briefing disturbing,” said Michael McCaul, chairman of the House Homeland Security Committee.

So while TSA’s awareness has improved from a 95 percent failure rate according to the DHS — who is in charge of the TSA — it’s still not stopping 70 percent of the dangerous and harmful items going through its x-ray detectors that are giving strangers a good look at your unmentionables.

But as government organizations will do, instead of terminating such a failure and allowing a better alternative to take its place within the free market, they are currently looking to throw more money at the problem:

Both members of Congress and the TSA support replacing old check point scanners with new CT scanners like the ones we were first to show you back in March.

“In this system, we use high power algorithms to detect explosives,” said Mark Laustra of Analogic, a company developing the technology.

TSA administrator David Pekoske told Congress the CT technology is the most effective way to keep passengers safe, but the cost is a major hurdle.

“To invest in the CT technology requires funding above what TSA currently has,” Pekoske said.

The TSA has a long history of failure. Just last July the TSA was probed by a group called “Red Team” in experiments that showed TSA agents failed to catch illegal, and dangerous items passing through their checkpoints 95 percent of the time.

The same kind of test was performed in June 0f 2015, with the same results with Red Team slipping by with no problems. However, while Red Team was slipping by with such things as drugs, fake weapons, and fake bombs, TSA agents are slamming disabled girls to the ground to make sure they aren’t carrying out any nefarious plots.

At this point, the TSA should just be shut down, preventing our taxpayer dollars from further being wasted. In its place, private corporations should be allowed to implement their own safety measures.
