We had more disturbing, divisive coverage of the Olympic hockey team triumphs, as the press has been incapable of celebrating the greatness of the moment. Instead of allowing for a national bonding moment to play out, the press has been intent on divisiveness and making this into a problematic event.
ABC News wanted to get in on the dogpile and reported on the call made by President Trump, and it had to edit out the disqualifying elements of that call. Then, despite all of the desire to create a problem with sexism on the part of the men’s team, the women’s team members have been detailing how close both teams had been during the Olympics.
The other big news was the State of the Union speech, and the press was expectantly negative about what President Trump said – some even waiting until he actually said something. There is a trend in the post-speech coverage in declaring Trump as being unacceptably aggressive in his speech. As for covering the aggression seen from Democrats during the SOTU, there was scant concern and scant coverage.
There were a couple of events staged by boycotting Democrats in defiance of the president, and there was a notable number of former network journalists participating and hosting these partisan parking lot parties.

On the “controversial” phone call from President Trump, ABC News played the tape, but in the brief 10-second interlude, it deceptively edited out the team enthusiastically supporting the women’s team being invited to the White House.
In Ottawa, the sports press demanded that Team USA star Brady Tkachuk explain himself for laughing in the locker room.
Women’s team member Abbey Murphy dispels any claim of a problem between the two teams.
After being shown that Kash Patel took eight meetings while in Italy, the Daily Beast tried to total the minutes spent at official visits versus time spent at the two hockey games he attended.
Jake Tapper feigned being offended that President Trump called Democrats “crazy” at the State of the Union speech.
It is both telling and not surprising at all how many reporters get fired from news outlets and become avowed Democratic Party mouthpieces.
