Jimmy Kimmel’s return to the airwaves was regarded as one of the monumental news items of the year, if we bought into the hype machine generated in the media. An unfunny comic with a late-night show filled with lectures and compelled audience participation is hardly what the nation’s democracy is balancing upon, but the press cannot be dissuaded by reality.
The hysterics over this show becoming the flashpoint in the defense of the 1st Amendment were pretty much exposed when, on the day of Kimmel’s triumphant return, news came out that Google admitted to censoring users at the direction of the Biden White House. The fact that most news outlets did not even care about this detail exposed the false outrage being seen for days.
In a similar fashion, we saw instant apathy when a shooter of a TV station was shown to be a leftist agitator. Then we close out with a mirthful segment where Kamala Harris explained to Rachel Maddow why she did not choose Pete Buttigieg as a running mate. If we had to guess (and since this was Harris at her word-salad best, we DO have to guess…), she did not pass on Pete because he is gay, but because his being gay made it risky…we think.
Just watch as the gay activist Rachel Maddow nods with approval over this nonsense.
Now, crack one open and savor some outmoded media malpractice and misinformation.
