Hopefully, we will soon wrap up the coverage of the Jake Tapper-Alex Thompson book “Original Sin” (we apologize, but the boys and the press just continue with it) as we see the biggest indicator of the failings. After weeks of heavy promotion, the decent-enough book sales have not been a benefit, as Jake’s CNN program suffers the worst ratings he has seen in a decade.
Additionally, in this time of the press needing to reconcile its problems, they refuse to change course. ABC News, in particular, appears very bothered by Donald Trump pardoning people--something they were unbothered by just four months ago. Some even praised Joe Biden when he set the presidential record for the most pardons and commutations.
Then we look at a new deportation story over which many in the press have become excited, while being largely incorrect, concerning a 4-year-old girl brought to the U.S. for emergency treatment. They all detail how she will die if sent away, yet all fail to show exactly where the effort is taken to actually have the girl deported.
Now, crack one open and savor some outmoded media malpractice and misinformation.

Jake Tapper’s co-author, Alex Thompson basically spells out the lack of journalism heft the entire media class possesses.
A sign that the release of “Original Sin” has not been a net positive is seen as Tapper’s ratings have begun to crater since its release.
On “The View,” co-host Whoopi Goldberg and the other hens contradict themselves on presidential pardons.
Jonathan Karl acts disapproving of Trump pardons, while steadfastly silent on Biden’s.
ABC News also puts out the wild claim that a 4-year-old girl will die when deported.
Chris Hayes has also gotten in on the lie of the 4-year-old being “deported.”
It took a second report for the LA Times to bury deep the detail that DHS has no plan in place to deport the young girl.
