It is the end of the year, and traditionally this is the time for year-end retrospectives. There are many versions of these coming out, from my own calendar retrospectives and over at TownHall the awards given out for the media mayhem we saw over the past year. (Upcoming will be our annual recognition of crazy press behavior, “The Remmy Awards”, and then comes “The Townhall-50”, recognizing the worst journalists of the year.)
So for this edition, we are looking at a selection of peculiar stories that captured our specific attention. There was a fractured campus protest, ESPN was stripped of awards, California brought an end to homophobia through the DMV, and the time our nation came together over the death of a rodent.

These are all fitting for the bizarre and bent year we just experienced.
