Legal Authority Nancy Pelosi Proposes Disbarring Trump Lawyers -- Yes, All of Them

We should pay all deference to her legal opinion as we have all of her others.

Well, this is a new legal standard that comes as a surprise. If the Democrats end up losing on impeachment — in other words, President Trump is not found guilty of impeachable offenses — that means the GOP lawyers should be stripped of their ability to practice law. So says political mastermind and Speaker of the House, Nancy Pelosi.

One of the many takeaways from the months-long meandering impeachment process is just how legally challenged the Democrats have proven themselves to be. It is astounding that in chambers filled with politicians possessing law degrees, charged with the task of crafting legislation, in a town so infested with lawyers it should be fumigated weekly that there was such a demonstrable lack of functional familiarity with legal precepts.

Nancy Pelosi has been one to especially be challenged on the matter of legal statutes. As Bonchie covered earlier, in a presser she made the amazing remark that if President Trump is acquitted it does not mean that he is…acquitted??

You cannot be acquitted if you do not have a trial,’’ goes her line of thinking. What escapes Nancy is that if the trial is somehow deemed to have not happened as a result of a lack of witnesses and documentation, that falls onto her. The House was responsible for delivering those very goods. But there is also this underlying issue — to make that comment she actually holds the position that the President is guilty, and the lack of a trial means he did not prove his innocence.

Rather expedient how she is able to simply toss out centuries of due process standards out with the hummus cartons and biodegradable sporks.

Her next legal proclamation is another broadside to jurisprudence. Trump’s legal team should become disbarred. “I don’t know how they can retain their lawyer status, in the comments that they’re making,” Pelosi told reporters in the Capitol. “I don’t think they made the case. I think they disgraced themselves terribly in terms of their violation of what our Constitution is about and what a president’s behavior should be.” This is the woman who just bemoaned the lack of proper witnesses and documents, provided by the House, accusing the GOP of not making a sufficient case.

But this is what legal delusion looks like. The Democrats have been incapable of laying out a proper case, and have been unable to illustrate the constitutional violations they claim took place. As a result, Pelosi accuses the Presidential legal team of improper law practice, and of wanting to ‘’dismantle the Constitution.’’

To adapt the now-approved Adam Schiff method of placing quotes in her mouth, what Pelosi is saying here is ”We lost, so they should all be disbarred as a result.’’ It is as desperate as it is infantile.
