Don Lemon is quickly finding out that consequences apply under the Trump administration. As RedState reported, the self-described "journalist" has been arrested for his part in allegedly storming a church, harassing congregants, and refusing to leave when asked by the pastor.

Videos posted by Lemon showed him appearing to coordinate with a mob of anti-ICE activists, most with prior Black Lives Matter ties, to enter the church in question. After the storming, Lemon "interviewed" the pastor, who directly asked him to leave the building. Instead, the former CNN host continued to walk around and badger terrified congregants for at least another eight minutes while the activists continued to deprive them of their right to worship.

Initially, a magistrate judge refused to sign off on an arrest warrant for Lemon. An appeals court then found "clear probable cause," but elected to kick the matter back down to let the process play out further. Well, it played out further, and Lemon now faces federal charges. Naturally, that meant a complete meltdown among left-wing politicians and "journalists."
Katherine Jacobsen of the Committee to Protect Journalists reacts to the arrest of Don Lemon: "As an international organization, we know that the treatment of journalists is an indicator of the condition of a country's democracy. The United States is doing poorly."

Arresting a journalist is a blatant attempt to intimidate and a further indicator of Trump’s authoritarianism. It goes against the most fundamental American values outlined in the First Amendment.

Don Lemon has been on the ground in Minnesota like hundreds of others doing the…
Attorney for my colleague and friend Don Lemon has released a statement saying Don was arrested by federal agents in LA last night. This is outrageous and cannot stand. The First Amendment is under attack in America! pic.twitter.com/V4TVEK7Icy

To provide a little clarity, no one has a "First Amendment" right to deprive others of their First Amendment rights by storming private property, harassing people in a place of worship, and then refusing to leave immediately when asked. That's not a thing, no matter how many fake credentials you claim along the way. Being a "journalist" does not provide total immunity from the law.
In fact, the left has spent the last decade assuring everyone that no one is above the law.
Sorry, bro. New rules. https://t.co/SeWMVBMgvt pic.twitter.com/qipH7b3nhN

What they really meant is "no one is above the law except Democrat politicians and left-wing journalists." Well, that's only a standard they could maintain if they won the last election, something they failed to do. That means the new rules are in effect, and whatever deference once existed was blown up by them. Now that they hold power, Republicans are not going to live by blatant double standards, which is something the left has gotten very used to weaponizing.
Left-wingers have gotten really used to being able to jail their opponents while threatening the jailing of more of their opponents as a way to avoid liability for crimes they commit.

Those days are over. Whatever deference once existed, they blew it up. pic.twitter.com/scrM71pPBK
We don't care about threats like those above anymore. The glass was already broken, and the "no one is above the law" contigent don't get to piece it back together the moment it's inconvenient for them. There is ample video evidence showing Lemon knew about the planned attack and participated in it. He didn't stand outside to report on the incident. He entered the building, allegedly took a direct role in the gross deprivation of rights, refused to leave when asked, and then bought coffee and conuts for the activists when it was over.
If this had been a mosque or abortion clinic being invaded by right-wingers, they'd have had the book thrown at them. How do I know that? Because that's what the Biden administration did, using the FACE Act to go after pro-life protesters whose biggest escalation was standing on sidewalks.
With all that said, will some judge or blue-state jury end up letting Lemon off? I don't know, but you can't predicate enforcement based on whether political bias might play in favor of the defendant. Again, as we've all been told, no one is above the law.
