With the end of the war in Gaza in sight, Hamas is facing new pressure from within. As the IDF withdraws to predetermined lines, rival Palestinian gangs are coming out of hiding and sparking a civil war. Numerous clashes have been reported between Hamas and Da'mash, and one of the casualties is reportedly Saleh al-Jaafari. You probably won't recognize that name, but you might recognize his nickname: Mr. FAFO.
The Hamas propagandist has spent the last two years changing "jobs" on a near-daily basis and "dying" somewhere around a dozen times. As Pallywood actors go, he's on the A-list.

The scene appeared to many as if it had been filmed twice - once by Mr. FAFO and once by a friend of his. pic.twitter.com/0N3kU9iaro

On the day the ceasefire was announced, he appeared in "Press" garb to celebrate. It was a demonstration of the typical Palestinian psychosis, which involves pretending to be victorious even in the face of total defeat. According to Gazan backchannels, Mr. FAFO is no more, though, and it wasn't the IDF who took him out.
He cheered on October 7, survived the entire war, then got beeped by a rival Arab clan.

Mr. FAFO with the perfect comedic timing.
This is the coda that this war deserved. pic.twitter.com/HUSotn2dJx
There are videos of him being dressed up in his "Press" cosplay (he was definitely not a journalist) at the hospital where his body was brought to, but I'll forgo posting them here. You can find them on social media with a cursory search.
This result for Mr. FAFO isn't surprising. Gaza was not a bastion of democracy and peace prior to October 7th, 2023, no matter how much left-wing Westerners want to pretend it was. Palestinians have been killing each other for a long time, and Gaza has always been a hellhole of violence. With Hamas having been so weakened by the IDF, other groups are seizing the opportunity to gain influence. Their desire to do so is likely only stoked further by Hamas' decision to carry out a series of public executions over the last few days.
The war may be over, and that's still not certain, but Gaza is going to continue to be Gaza. Palestinians do not want peace, and if they can't fight Israel, they'll fight each other. Still, there's something poetic about Mr. FAFO meeting his end at the hands of his own people after he spent years producing lies and supporting a terrorist group.
