President Donald Trump is set to address Congress for the first time in his second term on Tuesday night. While not technically a "State of the Union" address, it will serve the same function, with the president laying out his vision for the next four years while celebrating what successes have already been garnered. 

Naturally, that means Democrats are set to lose their minds. According to a new report, plans are being made to openly disrupt Trump's speech. That includes the use of "eggs" and possibly a coordinated "storming out." 

What we're hearing: Some members have told colleagues they may walk out of the chamber when Trump says specific lines they find objectionable, lawmakers told Axios.

• Criticism of transgender kids was brought up as a line in the sand that could trigger members to storm out, according to a House Democrat.

Learning nothing is a choice, and Democrats have made that choice without a second thought. It is astonishing to me that amid a list of possible political paths they could take that could help revive their party (because no American political party is ever truly dead in the modern era), they are choosing to simply double down on transgender insanity.

Understand that there are almost no 80/20 issues in the United States. It's hard to get Americans to agree on anything, but boys beating up on girls in sports and being allowed in girls' locker rooms is something the vast majority agree on. Yet Democrats, who just unanimously voted down a bill in the Senate on Monday to protect girls' sports, insist on continuing to beat their heads against this brick wall. Storming out of the chamber if Trump mentions protecting girls' sports would be an awful move for Democrats.

So what else is in store? Eggs (which I assume won't be thrown), noisemakers, pocket constitutions, and other props. 

A wide array of props — including noisemakers — has also been floated:

• Signs with anti-Trump or anti-DOGE messages — just as Rep. Rashida Tlaib (D-Mich.) held up a sign during Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu's speech last year that said "war criminal."
• Eggs or empty egg cartons to highlight how inflation is driving up the price of eggs.
• Pocket constitutions to make the case that Trump has been violating the Constitution by shutting down congressionally authorized agencies.
• Hand clappers, red cards and various other props have also been discussed, multiple sources said.

The thing with the eggs is just wild to me. Put aside whatever other price increases continue to fester or may happen in the future. When it comes to egg prices, their sudden rise was specifically caused by the Biden administration ordering the slaughter of millions of chickens just before Trump took office (under the guise of fighting the bird flu). There is quite literally nothing the current administration can do except wait for more chickens to be born and mature to the point where they can lay eggs. So, are Democrats going to use eggs as props to protest Biden? Because that's the only thing that makes sense.

I'm going to do what I attempt to always be and be consistent here. When a few Republicans tried to make themselves the center of attention during Joe Biden's congressional addresses, I was of the mind that was playing into the hands of the opposition. It allowed the focus to be put on decorum instead of whatever thing Biden was saying to burn himself to the ground. 

If they truly believe Trump has caused harm, then taking the attention off him and onto their antics is the worst thing they could do. Whether their allegations against Trump are true or not isn't the point. We are talking about political strategy here, and I continue to be dumbfounded at the Democratic Party's insistence on doing the stupidest thing possible at any given moment. 

But hey, if they want to hand Trump another win, they are welcome to do so.
