WATCH: Biden Gives Train Wreck Farewell Speech, Goes Ron Burgundy Again and Rants Aimlessly

It's not quite the end-game for Joe Biden's presidency, but with just days left before he exits the White House for the last time, he appeared in the Oval Office on Wednesday evening to give his "farewell speech." Despite being relatively short, Biden managed to go out with a bang...and not in a good way.

Sitting behind the Resolute Desk, the president ranted and raved about random topics, including "fact-checking" on social media sites. Given how silly and granular of a thing that is to bring up at a farewell address, I can only assume his handlers have just completely given up at this point. Can you blame them?

BIDEN: Social media is giving up on fact-checking. The truth is smothered by lies, told for power and for profit. We must hold the social platforms accountable to protect our children, our families, and our very democracy from the abuse of power.

Past presidents have used their addresses to speak to the American people about high-level ideals. Joe Biden angrily complained about the moderation policies on a social media platform. You can't make this stuff up.

The absurdity of it all aside, his rhetoric would be right at home in a third-world communist dictatorship. It is not the government's job to curate information based on faux claims of disinformation. That is something a strongman like China's Xi Jinping does, and to see a President of the United States go there would be genuinely disturbing if Biden wasn't otherwise so pathetic and impotent.

And speaking of pathetic and impotent, the president once again chose to politicize recent natural disasters in North Carolina and California by blaming "climate change."

Hurricane Helene was certainly a tragedy, but hurricanes have been forming in the gulf and hitting what is now the United States for all of history. No amount of green spending will stop them, and the suggestion is ghoulish in that it is a clear attempt to make political hay out of the suffering of others. The same is true for the California wildfires, which appear to have started due to arson. As to the spread of the fires, "climate change" did not make the state's officials prioritize irrational environmental concerns over filling reservoirs and maintaining infrastructure.

Of course, it wouldn't be a Biden speech without the protector of the nation's soul claiming others "threaten democracy."

BIDEN: That's why in my farewell address tonight, I want to warn the country tonight of some things that give me great concern. That's the dangerous concentration (slurs words) of power in the hands of a very few, ultra-wealthy people. There are dangerous consequences if their abuse of power is left unchecked.

Today an oligarchy is taking shape in America of extreme wealth, power, and influence that literally threatens our entire democracy, our basic rights and freedoms, and a fair shot for everyone to get ahead.

I wouldn't expect Biden to remember this, but he just gave billionaire George Soros the Presidential Medal of Freedom two weeks before this speech. What was Soros' contribution to America? He gave a bunch of money to Democrats, including Biden. It's also an objective fact that far more billionaires supported Kamala Harris than Donald Trump during the 2024 election so they can all take a seat lecturing about "oligarchy."

What Biden means is that he doesn't like billionaires who oppose his party's agenda, which is an authoritarian mindset whereby supporters are rewarded while dissenters are maligned and punished. Never mind that income inequality, whatever that's worth as a statistic, has grown during his term.

That's not very relevant, though, because we all know Biden is just talking about Elon Musk, who backed Trump during the election. What has Musk done? He's encouraged freedom of speech and helped expand its reach, and the president claims that's a threat to democracy. What a ridiculous assertion.

Then there was the senility. Aside from Biden's clear lack of energy and constant slurring of his words, the president had yet another Ron Burgundy moment, reading "end of quote" off the teleprompter as he wrapped up his speech.

What a fitting end to Biden's disastrous tenure. Ever the empty-suited charlatan, he will go down as one of the two worst presidents in modern history, only rivaled by President Jimmy Carter. And you know what? I think Biden might have him beaten.
