Republican Bernie Moreno has won the Ohio Senate race after the close of one of the most contentious and competitive races in the country. All eyes were on Ohio to see if Republicans would take the seat and solidify a new majority in the Senate.

Moreno had taken a very late polling average lead against Democrat incumbent Sherrod Brown, though Brown was always seen as a tough out given the incumbent advantage inherent in senate races.
Republicans and Democrats poured tons of money into the state, overwhelming the airwaves while rally after rally was held by the candidates. In the end, it was enough for Moreno to secure the big victory.
