Stephanie Ruhle's shameless slobbering over Kamala Harris has paid off big for the MSNBC host.
While appearing on Bill Maher's show over the weekend, Ruhle proclaimed that Harris doesn't need to answer tough questions because the election is a binary choice. She went on to describe Donald Trump as a "threat to democracy," claiming it is expecting "Nirvana" for the vice president to sit down for a real interview.

RUHLE: If you don't like her answer, are you going to vote for Trump? Kamala Harris is not running for perfect, she is running against Trump. We have two choices. There are some things that you might not know her answer to. In 2024, we know exactly what Trump will do, who he is, and the kind of threat he is to democracy.
STEPHENS: The problem that a lot of people have with Kamala is that we don't know her answer to anything.
RUHLE: But you know his answer to everything.
STEPHENS: People also are expected to have some idea of what the program that you're supposed to vote for. I don't think it's a lot to ask for her to sit down for a real interview.
RUHLE: When you move to Nirvana, I'll be your next-door neighbor. We don't live there.
Take a wild guess what happened next. Upon hearing just how much of a sycophant Ruhle is on Maher's show, the Harris campaign immediately called her up and scheduled an interview. I'm not kidding. You truly can't make this stuff up. How does the Babylon Bee even stay in business at this point?
Stephanie Ruhle goes on Bill Mahar and lick spittles Kamala Harris saying it doesn't matter that she doesn't answer questions or what she believes. Peter Baker calls her "the great" for landing a pretaped interview because of it. https://t.co/LCqF3ioY1w

Stephanie: It's a silly fantasy to imagine we should ask Kamala any hard questions.

Kamala: I would love to give you an interview.
Calling this pathetic would be an understatement. Kamala Harris wants to be President of the United States, yet she's picking interviewers based on how much they bend the knee to her. Ruhle is a joke of a "journalist" who has long done the bidding of Democrats on MSNBC. She isn't going to ask a single tough question because she's already told us she's not going to ask a single tough question, and that's all it took to secure an interview with Harris.
The incentives within the mainstream press are completely screwed up. The more a journalist goes soft on a Democrat, the more likely they are to gain access. On the flip side, the more a journalist acts like a partisan hack towards a Republican, the more likely they are to see elevation in their career. For proof of that, go watch ABC News' Linsey Davis at the presidential debate between Harris and Trump and then read the glowing reviews she received.
Ruhle, Davis, and the rest act the way they do, not just because they are true believers (they are) but because they benefit from it. Until that changes, the press will continue to be a complete joke with no credibility.
As to the Harris campaign, it says something about their level of confidence that they won't let the candidate do any tough interviews. The vice president is still sharing policy positions through anonymous aides. This is the most manufactured, astroturfed campaign in presidential history. For the sake of everyone, it must be rejected.
