Eric Swalwell Has a Total Meltdown During Hearing Over Viral Memes of Trump Saving Cats

If you've been following the news, you've probably seen reports of Haitian migrants eating pets and park animals, including geese, in Springfield, OH. How accurate are those claims? The answer to that isn't entirely clear.

Some residents have testified at a city council meeting that they've seen the migrants killing ducks and geese. With that said, a viral video of a woman eating a cat was not actually of a migrant or in Springfield, and the local police say they've received no calls.

The truth is probably somewhere in the middle. A picture of a migrant carrying a dead goose has been publicized and seems to corroborate some of the claims along with the testimonies mentioned above. Are cats being eaten? I don't have that answer, and I'll leave others to speculate at this point.

Still, the internet is going to have its fun, and memes of Donald Trump saving cats and ducks have been spreading like wildfire.

For the most part, I think it's all in good fun. Joe Biden's temporary protective status order has been overwhelming small communities, and when residents are saying it's a problem, we should believe them. Some took great offense to the memes, though.

Enter Rep. Eric Swalwell, who famously got catfished by a Chinese spy. He had a total meltdown during a hearing on Tuesday. I'm talking shouting and spittle flying.

SWALWELL: What in the hell is this?! The Chairman tweets, "Protect our ducks and kittens in Ohio" because he goes down some crazy rabbit hole, completely debunked, that aliens are eating pets. My God! Are you okay Mr. Chairman because last year for a very long time, you tweeted and promoted Kanye West as he was calling for genocide against the Jews, and you kept it up, and now, when we have victims coming here, you're tweeting this nonsense. I don't know why you would do this. I hope you're okay. I don't know if the aliens who are eating your ducks are in the room with us right now, but Mr. Chairman, this is a serious issue.

For context, Rep. Jim Jordan, who chairs the House Judiciary Committee, has never "promoted Kanye West as he was calling for genocide against the Jews." Regardless, it's hard to imagine how someone like Swalwell can find himself in public office. Are there any standards whatsoever in some of these districts? This guy is the clown of clowns, and his faux intellectualism only makes him more hilarious to observe.

Jordan shared the meme as a joke. It was meant to be funny, and it is funny. It had nothing to do with the hearing going on that included victims of crimes. It was not presented as part of the hearing. Swalwell had no reason to bring it up other than the fact that he was supremely triggered by a joke at the Biden administration's expense.

We deserve better people in government than this. I guess Swalwell thought he'd end up on CNN, and he still might, but is that reason enough to hijack a hearing? And to freak out over a meme? It's stupid, and it shows just how unserious so many people in our government are.
