Kamala Harris has yet to give an interview or hold a press conference since entering the presidential race over a month ago, but if you need an explanation fit for a five-year-old of how teams work, she's got you covered.
NEW: Kamala Harris' First Interview Is Finally Scheduled, and the Details Are Pathetic
The now-viral scene on Wednesday took place in a high school band hall. Flanked by running mate Tim Walz, Harris did her best Michael Scott impression, serving up one of her infamous word salads on the finer points of team building. As usual, it's not just what she says but how she says it that really makes this so hilarious.
Kamala explains the concept of how teams work together to a high school band as if they are 5 years old.

It's a real mystery why her handlers never let her speak without a script...pic.twitter.com/iS2p4gtTJx
HARRIS: But our country is counting on you. All of you. You are leaders by the very fact that you all are in this room, doing what you do at this incredible school, doing it as one big team, understanding all of the different parts that fit together to create a team.
There are always two tells that Harris is about to drop some knowledge. First, she starts speaking as if she's addressing a kindergarten class, with a plodding and deliberate pace. Then it's time for the arms to get going. The more she flails with big sweeping motions, the more she's trying to fill space and sound smart while only accomplishing the former.
I mean, what is she even saying there? How is every student in the room a leader just by being there? That's not how leadership works at all. On the contrary, the entire point of a team is that people fill different roles, including only a select few being leaders. It sounded good in her head, though.
My favorite part of that clip isn't what's coming out of Harris' mouth, though. Instead, it's seeing Walz start profusely nodding at the end, as if she had just delivered a revelation from on high. I'll give him this. He may be a chronic liar who stole valor, but he's got the lap dog thing down pat.

This is why Harris' campaign does its level best to keep her in bubble wrap and tethered to the teleprompter. This is why she hasn't done a single interview or press conference since becoming the presumptive nominee in late July. Any time she goes off-script, she's just weird, awkward, and inauthentic. Republicans have to hope that reality makes it to previously unengaged voters before it's too late.
