Washington has long been the most incestuous place on earth, and John Podesta perfectly embodies the rampant corruption in the nation's capital. Moving from one administration and lobbying gig to another, Podesta was most recently appointed "climate czar" under Joe Biden.

I guess the "defenders of democracy" see no contradiction in having unelected power brokers wasting taxpayer money with no accountability to fill their own pockets. That's the kind of "democracy" the Democratic Party longs for.
Podesta's motives for getting back in the game may be even more sinister than first thought, though. According to a new report, he's been giving access to an environmentalist group funded by Swiss billionaire Hansjorg Wyss.
White House climate czar John Podesta recently met with the head of an environmentalist group bankrolled by a foreign billionaire whose foundation paid Podesta tens of thousands of dollars, the latest example of Podesta granting high-level access to one of his wealthy patrons.
According to the visitor records, Podesta met on Nov. 16 with Molly McUsic, the president of the Wyss Foundation and Berger Action Fund, bankrolled by reclusive Swiss billionaire Hansjorg Wyss. As a foreign national, Wyss is prohibited from donating directly to political candidates. Nevertheless, Wyss has become one the Democratic Party’s most influential forces, thanks to the tens of millions of dollars he gives each year to liberal advocacy groups and others to help elect Democrats.
Why would Wyss, through his lackeys, be meeting with the White House "climate czar" in his official capacity? As it turns out, the billionaire has paid Podesta tens of thousands of dollars over the years. I'm sure that's just a coincidence, though. Someone within Biden's orbit selling access is just crazy talk. It's not like we have ample evidence of that regarding the president's very own son.
So what was the meeting all about? That's unclear, but as the report notes, it did coincide with Podesta pushing to pause new natural gas projects, a move that stands to further increase energy prices for normal Americans. Who stands to benefit from that? That would be Wyss, whose organization has been fighting to end oil and gas drilling in the United States. In other words, Podesta may not only be selling access, but he may be selling you down the river in the process.
Wyss was also a big supporter of Biden's "Build Back Better" plan, which included hundreds of millions of dollars in subsidies to fight "climate change," which is just another name for Democrat-approved special interests. Lastly, making the meeting between Podesta and Wyss' foundation even more questionable, it was revealed that Jim Messina, a former top Obama official, also attended.

It's often speculated that Biden, being visibly senile, is not in charge of his administration. That then leads to the question of who is in charge. The answer is people like Podesta and political operatives like Messina who are, in turn, taking their marching orders from paymasters like Wyss.
Biden is a figurehead who may or may not be able to tie his own shoes at this point. That doesn't absolve him of all the horror his tenure has brought, but the problems go much deeper than the doddering old man behind the podium.
