Don't Look Now, but Christine Blasey Ford Is Back Just in Time for the Election

Christine Blasey Ford is back, and just in time for the 2024 election season. The infamous accuser of now-Supreme Court Justice Brett Kavanaugh appeared on The View on Tuesday for a softball interview.

The results were predictable, but there's something bigger going on here.

I can't help but laugh at Sara Haines' framing. "Even today some people remain skeptical," as if some new and stunning information has come out to bolster Ford's claims. Nothing of the sort has happened, and the tale told of a young Kavanaugh committing rape remains as non-credible today as it was in 2018.

Ford still can't specify what year the act supposedly took place (this was a decades-old accusation). She still can't say where it occurred. None of the witnesses she named have ever corroborated her story, and the FBI found no evidence to back it when it investigated. As allegations go, it was as lacking as any to ever gain notoriety. That didn't stop the whirlwind, though, which was meant to protect Roe v. Wade by forcing a more "consensus" pick onto the court.

In the end, the gambit backfired, Kavanaugh was confirmed, and the Dobbs decision was handed down some years later. So why is Ford back in the news? On the surface, it's to make money off her new memoir, but that only speaks to her motivation. The motivation of ABC News and other outlets to once again platform her is not some book that likely won't sell well. It's to ramp up attacks on the Supreme Court during an election year.

Members of the press and the Democratic Party are currently in the midst of a war against the nation's highest court, and the goal is to discredit it by any means necessary heading into November. The more anger is driven at the Supreme Court, the more the left feels it will benefit from voters who disapprove of recent decisions spanning abortion to gun rights. Marching Ford back into the spotlight is yet another way to act as if the current makeup of the court is illegitimate.

Thus, we'll get a lot of interviews and proclamations from the left pretending that Ford's story wasn't lacking the basic details required to be taken seriously. The same people who told you not to believe Tara Reade, Joe Biden's accuser, because she lacked corroborating evidence will now start shouting "believe all women" again. It's all so predictable.
