In a sea of unpatriotic, anti-American nonsense created by the sports world over the last several years, there have been few examples that counter the narrative. The U.S. Junior Hockey Team did just that in a now-viral video. 

In it, the team is seen locking arms and singing the national anthem after defeating Sweden to win the world championship. Their expressions are joyous as they belt out the words, and not a single person even thought to kneel.

There's something heartwarming about seeing people sing the anthem with it actually meaning something to them. It shouldn't matter who the president is. It shouldn't matter if one disagrees with the direction of the country. We are all Americans, and we have a rich history of greatness as a nation that should be honored, not spit on. 

Compare that clip to videos of people like Megan Rapinoe who became famous for kneeling for the anthem and openly trashing the country that has given them so much. Unfortunately, too many in society agree with her viewpoint, having no concept of how lucky they are.

The last several years have been tough for Americans and there's not a lot ot be proud of emenating from the current political establishment. Still, when Americans are on the national stage, they should support their country and their country should support them. That's how it used to be, and that's how it should be again.
