Democrat Staffer Who Filmed Himself Having Sex in the Capitol Fired, and the Cover-Up Is Underway

The U.S. Senate staffer who filmed himself having sex with his boyfriend inside a Capitol Building meeting room has been fired. That news was delivered in a statement put out by Sen. Ben Cardin's office, the Democrat who employed the staffer.

As RedState reported, the saga first came to light on Friday afternoon, with the only real details being that the staffer was a member of Cardin's office. Shortly after, the staffer was identified as Aidan Maese-Czeropski, and the video he produced was obtained and publicized. I won't go into detail describing it except to say it was the hardcore variety.

Cardin's announcement that Maese-Czeropski was fired could not been less informative. It contained only two sentences, ending with a proclamation that the issue would not be discussed further.

In other words, the cover-up is underway. You would think a senator who had a staffer defile the Capitol Building by filming hardcore gay porn in it would not get the luxury of saying "no further comment," but this is a Democrat we are talking about, so the normal rules don't apply.

To illustrate that, as of this writing, it has been almost 24 hours since the initial story broke, and the mainstream press has essentially ignored it. None of the legacy outlets, including The New York Times and The Washington Post, have even reported on the scandal. Politico did mention it in its morning newsletter, but that was the extent of it.

Imagine if we were talking about a Republican Senate office. Do you think maybe CNN, MSNBC, or the broadcast networks would report on what occurred? They would not only blast it out on the front page, but they'd suggest it as some kind of conservative violation of family values.

The suggestion being made by the legacy outlets that this isn't a story worth reporting on is ludicrous and hypocritical. The United States Capitol Police is investigating Maese-Czeropski for possible violations of the law, though he's likely to be let off on that front as well. There's a video floating around of a U.S. Senate staffer having gay sex in the same room where hearings are held. That's a story worth reporting, and it's a situation worthy of condemnation.
