As RedState reported, Karine Jean-Pierre gave one of the worst answers of her embarrassing career as White House press secretary on Monday. When asked whether the administration was concerned about a potential rise in antisemitism, Jean-Pierre started reading an answer about threats to Muslim Americans, leaving onlookers completely perplexed.
It was a well-earned controversy given the thousands who are currently participating in protests calling for the genocide of the Jewish people and the destruction of Israel. Just hours after Jean-Pierre's presser, a large crowd marched in New York City shouting that there is only "one solution, intifada." The mention of a "solution" is an obvious nazi reference to Hitler's "final solution" for the Jews during the Holocaust.
Just came home to hundreds of people outside of my apartment here in NYC calling for Intifada, which given recent events, may well be considered a call for the mass murder of Jews. Never did I expect to see this kind of open antisemitism so close to home. pic.twitter.com/DLxGpzMxHQ

After being called out, Jean-Pierre responded with a clean-up attempt. In doing so, she only managed to step in it again.
That’s why the President mobilized his homeland security team to address any potential threats that could harm Jewish communities, as well as Muslim, Arab American, and Palestinian American communities.

I've got a few reactions to that thread. For one, if that's what she meant, then why didn't she say it? Instead of even acknowledging antisemitism, she immediately started addressing supposed hate against Muslims as if she had misunderstood the question. In fact, she was clearly reading a pre-written answer from her binder, again suggesting she didn't even realize she was being asked about antisemitism. Wouldn't it be easier to just admit she made a mistake?
Instead, she decided to double down with a huffy response that ultimately commits the same wrong that was committed in the initial answer. Why is it so difficult for Jean-Pierre, and by extension, Joe Biden, to just say that antisemitism is wrong and that they oppose it?
Instead, we keep getting these ridiculous equivocations that match none of the data we currently have on where the threats are. It's reminiscent of the president's recent speech in which he gave an ear to left-wing concerns about aid being sent to Gaza despite its ruling government still holding over 200 hostages. If you are a Jew in America, the message is clear.
You only matter in so far as the White House can virtue signal about unproven fears of Islamophobia. It is not Jews who are marching by the thousands chanting genocidal slogans against Muslims. It is not Jews who are attacking people on the street, blocking traffic, and ripping down flyers showing kidnapping victims. Clearly, the threat of major violence bends toward one side right now, not the least of which is shown by Hamas' initial attack and the outpouring of support for it.
The Biden administration continues to be a morally bankrupt mess, and Jean-Pierre continues to be the worst press secretary in history.
