In the apparent never-ending quest for some teachers and the mainstream press to normalize grooming, a recent controversy arose in how NBC News decided to report a teacher who showed pornographic materials to her students.

According to the liberal broadcast network, a police report was filed against Sarah Bonner, a teacher in Illinois, after she shared a book called This Book Is Gay in a so-called classroom “book tasting.” When a student brought that book home and their parents found out, they decided to escalate the situation.
Here’s how NBC News reported the incident.
Sarah Bonner has been an Illinois middle school teacher for 20 years, and she has always tried to offer her students a diverse collection of books.
This year, a parent called the police over her book choice.
It started on Monday, March 13, 2023, when she held what she calls a “book tasting” for students.
“I wanted to give them a smattering of fiction and nonfiction to choose from on a day that we call “Reading Monday,'” Bonner, 42, told TODAY.com. “We just read and celebrate books.”
One of those books was Juno Dawson’s “This Book is Gay.” It’s a bestselling nonfiction book that’s billed by its publisher as an entertaining and informative “instruction manual” for anyone coming out as lesbian, gay, bisexual or trans.
The rest of the piece is nothing but fluff, painting Bonner as a model teacher just trying to help her students by exposing to LBGT themes. But as has become usual in these cases, there’s always more to the story.
Nowhere in NBC News’ report is a single description of what This Book Is Gay actually contains, and once you see it for yourself, you’ll understand why. Namely, the book is a grotesque grooming manual, complete with not only instructions on how to have gay sex but also information on using hook-up apps and how to eat poop.
No, I’m not kidding about that last one. You’ll also notice that NBC News got the community notes treatment for putting up a false thumbnail and using a highly misleading headline describe the story.

I’m not going to post any more pictures, but rest assured the ones above are the tamer examples. If you’d like even more context, click this link at your own risk.
Now, with that context, here’s a bit more of NBC News’ write-up just to illustrate how absurd it is. Again, nowhere do they mention what the book actually contains. Instead, this was the tone of the coverage.
“I couldn’t be the professional I’ve worked hard to be,” she says.
The following Thursday, the school district held a special board meeting and voted unanimously to accept Bonner’s resignation.
“My first instinct was the kids,” Bonner says, adding that many of her current and former students spoke during the board meeting to say that her classroom was “a safe place.”
“If I am a safe place and I’m leaving, what does that do for our students?” Bonner asks. “‘What about the kids?’ has always been a question rooted in everything I do.
This teacher obviously doesn’t understand what the phrase “safe place” means because giving kids books teaching them to go on gay hook-up apps and how to eat feces is not safe. That she’d think that shows how mentally deranged she is. Teachers like this shouldn’t be allowed within two hundred feet of children. Never mind the parental rights concerns that capstone these discussions.
Bonner eventually resigned due to the blowback, but she should be charged with child endangerment for this. If this had happened with any other individual that wasn’t a teacher, they’d already be in jail. Imagine if a Catholic priest gave a book detailing gay sex to a child. How do you think NBC News would react? But because it’s a teacher, we are supposed to pretend it’s fine?
It’s long past time to stop acting as if teachers are special when it comes to exposing students to grotesque, dangerous content. Teaching children about gay sex, gross fetishes, and hook-up apps is grooming. There is no other word that better describes it.
