Big news on the Hunter Biden front. A new report from The Washington Post has revealed that the DOJ now has enough evidence to charge the president’s degenerate son with multiple crimes.

According to the sources who leaked the information to the Post, tax crimes and gun crimes are on the table for the younger Biden. All that remains is a final decision from the US Attorney in Delaware on whether to move forward and file the charges.

Federal agents investigating President Biden’s son Hunter have gathered what they believe is sufficient evidence to charge him with tax crimes and a false statement related to a gun purchase, according to people familiar with the case. The next stepis for the U.S. Attorney in Delaware, a Trump administration holdover, to decide on whether to file such charges, these people said…

…Agents determined months ago they had assembled a viable criminal case against the younger Biden. But it is ultimately up to prosecutors at the Justice Department, not agents, to decide whether to file charges in cases where prosecutors believe the evidence is strong enough to lead to a likely conviction at trial.

Given the intense political interest in a criminal probe involving the son of a sitting president, Attorney General Merrick Garland has made clear that the U.S. Attorney in Delaware, David C. Weiss, who was nominated by Trump in late 2017, is supervising the case.

There doesn’t appear to be any logical reason here why charges would be passed on. Per the report, the agents investigating the case have had the evidence to support charges for months. Yet, the DOJ has apparently slow-walked things, perhaps as a way to not influence the election.

That would be pretty insane given that the very same DOJ used the FBI to raid Donald Trump’s home earlier in the summer. If politics aren’t playing a role here, then Hunter Biden should have been given the same treatment. Unfortunately, anyone betting money on where this situation will go should probably plunk it down on no charges being filed until after the mid-terms.

As RedState has reported previously, Hunter Biden’s business history is checkered at best. He infamously received $80,000 a month from a Ukrainian oil company named Burisma for what appeared to be essentially no real work. The president’s son was also tied up with the Russians, garnering millions from a Moscow-based oligarch for reasons yet to be explained. His dealings with China are perhaps the most interesting, though. Not only did Hunter Biden share office space with a CCP-controlled “businessman,” but Joe Biden was also involved, having met with the man while holding an office in the same space.

So where does this go from here? I’m cautiously optimistic that charges will ultimately be filed, and here’s the reason why. Whenever the DOJ starts leaking to The New York Times and the Post, that’s almost always because they are looking to get ahead of a bad story and shape the narrative. I don’t think these leaks happen if charges weren’t imminent.

It’s a waiting game for the time being, and again, I don’t expect anything to happen prior to the mid-terms. Still, the delay alone is enough to accuse the DOJ of once again interfering in an election. Hunter Biden should have been charged long ago.
