California is one of the most beautiful states in the union. Over the course of a few hours, you can go from beaches to ski slopes, and the weather is pretty great as well.

But there’s no doubt it’s horribly run from a governmental perspective. Right now, Gavin Newsom is leading one of the dumbest, most anti-science coronavirus responses in the nation as his state continues to set records for total infections, and not content with the current lack of progress, the governor decided to just go with a full dystopian nightmare for the holidays.

The recent guidelines for “gatherings” the state announced, as covered by our Jennifer Van Laar, are ridiculous enough – allowing for a wedding, but not for a reception, among others. Now, enter California’s new Thanksgiving COVID restrictions per Newsweek.

All gatherings must include no more than three households, including hosts and guests, and must be held outdoors, lasting for two hours of less.

“The longer the duration [of the gathering], the risk of transmission increases,” the statement noted.

“Gatherings that occur outdoors are significantly safer than indoor gatherings. All gatherings must be held outside. Attendees may go inside to use restrooms as long as the restrooms are frequently sanitized,” the statement added.

It gets worse, but I want to stop here to comment. California’s government is actually trying to police how you go to the restroom in your own home (or the home of your family members). Think about how absolutely insane and fascistic that is. What if the restrooms aren’t “frequently” sanitized? Do you just go in your pants? And what qualifies as such anyway?

You also must wear a mask and stay six feet away from everyone while you eat Thanksgiving dinner.

The new rules state those at a gathering “may remove their face coverings briefly to eat or drink as long as they stay at least 6 feet away from everyone outside their own household, and put their face covering back on as soon as they are done with the activity.”

It’s not enough that the evidence for masking continues to be absolutely limited, to the point where any real correlation between wearing one and infection rates doesn’t appear to exist. These little tyrants in blue states (as well as on CNN with Dr. Fauci) want you to literally wear a mask while inside your own home with your family.

And just in case you thought it couldn’t get any more absurd, Newsom also wants you to know that playing wind instruments and singing are “strongly discouraged.”

Singing, chanting, shouting, and physical exertion significantly increases the risk of COVID-19 transmission because these activities increase the release of respiratory droplets and fine aerosols into the air…

…Musicians are allowed at gatherings but they must be from one of the three households. The playing of any wind instruments (those that are played by the mouth, such as a trumpet or clarinet) is “strongly discouraged”…

But this is liberalism run amok. There are no limits to the control these people will attempt to seize. We’ve now reached the point where citizens are told they can’t sing in their own houses while celebrating the holidays.

Of great importance is to recognize this is exactly what a Joe Biden led country will look like. The former VP has repeatedly said he will hand over total control to people like Dr. Fauci, who is now wanting a national mask mandate that could last until 2022. Newsom’s “scientists” are cut from the exact same cloth and it’s just a matter of time before Biden’s CDC would be adopting these same types of insane restrictions, only on a national level. This was never about science. It’s about politics and control, no counterfactuals need apply.
