CNN’s April Ryan is no stranger to absolutely epic melt downs. This is the same person who lost her mind over Sarah Huckabee Sanders baking a pie, accusing the former press secretary of some vast conspiracy to fake cooking the desert. But as with most media personalities, the unhinged has been turned up to eleven lately and Ryan is no exception.

Enter this incredibly insane rant in which she claims Trump has purposely started a race war and should be tried by the International Criminal Court, presumably to be put to death for human rights violations or something.

This seems rational and not at all the rantings of a lunatic, right? To the extent that anything Ryan said even deserves a rebuttal, we’ll do so briefly.

For starters, if Trump were trying to “start a race war,” picking Portland, OR as “ground zero,” one of the whitest cities in the country, wouldn’t make much sense would it? Further, most of the violence and rioting in Portland is from Antifa members who also happen to be white. While the racial makeup of the rioters differs greatly in places like Chicago and D.C., Portland’s Marxist wannabees are decidedly of the vanilla flavor. That fact alone discredits much of what Ryan is vomiting out on CNN.

Her musings about the International Criminal Court are perhaps even dumber. What exactly is Trump going to be charged with? Offering federal assistance to left-wing politicians who refuse it while their cities burn? If a supposed journalist is going to make such a wild charge, perhaps she should be more specific? And I’m reliably informed that Ryan does indeed still call herself a “journalist.” Ryan ends by claiming she knows people in the intel community (spoiler: she doesn’t) who are terrified of Trump and that agree he’s started a race war.

Honestly, this entire “race war” narrative confuses me. It is not Trump supporters who are burning down cities, nor is it Trump supporters who are using heavily racial language and misleading reporting to stoke the flames of division. That’s all coming from the mainstream media. If Ryan is looking for a culprit in a supposed race war, she need only look in the mirror.
