When is a terrorist not actually a terrorist? When saying the truth would look bad for Black Lives Matter, an admitted “Marxist” organization that has enjoyed a renewed level of notoriety following the killing of George Floyd.

Snopes decided to do a fact-check on whether claims that Susan Rosenberg, who has served on the board of Black Lives Matter’s fundraising arm, was in fact a domestic terrorist. Unable to simply state the facts, they bend themselves into knots trying to excuse her history.

Adorable.

Here’s what Snopes says is true.

She was an active member of revolutionary left-wing movements whose illegal activities included bombing U.S. government buildings and committing armed robberies.

That sounds an awful lot like a terrorist doesn’t it? Revolutionary groups are domestic terrorists by definition. Their goal is political change through violence, which Rosenberg’s group certainly was. Throw in a few bombings of U.S. government buildings and it’s not ambiguous at all. She was obviously a domestic terrorist and was convicted of numerous crimes in relation to that label.

But Snopes couldn’t just let the facts speak for themselves. Instead, they laughably say the claim is “mixed” because who really knows what a terrorist is anyway, right?

The veracity with which these news and media outlets will go to avoid saying the obvious about Black Lives Matter is mind-numbing. The organization is ripe with radicals, many of which have very concerning to outright dangerous ties. If we were talking about a Republican, they’d be labeled a domestic terrorist and thrown off the proverbial media cliff without a second thought. But because we are dealing with people and an organization that is seen as beneficial to liberal causes, they must be protected.

What’s the point of having a fact-checking site if you aren’t going to actually check facts and let what’s true be true? Snopes has been a joke and continues to be a joke.
