Sen. Tammy Duckworth went on CNN this morning to make it clear that her party can’t be counted on to protect even the most basic tenets of America, including the idea that statues of George Washington shouldn’t be torn down. In what was a bizarre interview, she also managed to bring up Russia and assert that Trump’s 4th of July speech was about “dead traitors.”

They can’t keep this charade up forever. In fact, I’d suggest it’s already been exposed. Trump’s speech was not about Confederate monuments and everyone knows it. We can all see the video from last night of a Columbus statue being destroyed in Baltimore. We can see Boston pulling down their Lincoln statue and George Washington being desecrated with red paint to symbolize blood. In short, Americans are not stupid and pretending that this is just about Confederate generals stopped being persuasive a long time ago.

Duckworth knows this, but she’s too scared of the political consequences to actually address the real issue. In fact, when she is asked specifically about George Washington monuments being destroyed, she tacitly endorses the behavior.

These people are absolutely terrified to offend their left-wing base, which is in full revolt right now.

You’ve also got to love the insinuation that Trump should have used his 4th of July speech to talk about Russia. Obsession doesn’t even begin to describe the Democrat rhetoric on that subject. I’m fully convinced that Trump could go officiate a wedding and people like Duckworth would demand he denounce Putin half-way through. These conspiracy theories invade their minds, and they can’t fathom thinking about anything else.

I’m at the point now regarding the 2020 election that I’m far less worried about policy outcomes vs. the incalculable cultural damage that will occur if this insanity is reinforced by the election of Joe Biden. The above interview with Duckworth is absolutely crazy. It’s full of lies and misrepresentations, and when pressed on something as simple as not destroying George Washington, she can’t even condemn that. This is the modern Democrat party.

They are telling us who they are. Perhaps America should listen?
